For my two cents: I've had the OnePlus One for several months now and you get a flagship hardware phone for half the price. The software however... Cyanogenmod's team is pretty small in comparison to Samsung, so it's a testament to their ability considering how well it works when it does work. That being said, with every new update there comes new bugs that are some of the most frustrating things like ghost touches, no lock on GPS, random reboots, black lines on screens. All of which are software/OS related, all of which can manifest itself in people's phone in varying orders or not at all.
