I bought a pair of mb42x a while ago, was never a fan from day 1. They work okay for surrounds, but that's all I'll use them for
Why the fuck would people vote MB42's higher than MB42X's? Are you fucking kidding me...also that's never gonna happen, they are already selling them for dirt cheap pretty much and the price never changes.

The people voting on this poll specifically are likely to lack the capital difference and you can aftermarket mod the MB42 with a crossover. However I'd rather see the MB42x since I'd guess any discount should logistically apply to all supplied components for a cheaper long term investment. Also there was a recent $20 price hike for both models, which caught me by surprise since you're otherwise right.

The MB42 cabinet is made from wood whereas the MB42X is plastic. I purchased the MB42 and upgraded the crossover, resulting in a wood cabinet MB42X. Aesthetic preference.
