I see they are in pre-order stage...device is coming in April 2017.
Hey everyone - thanks for voting and posting in this poll. It's actually one of the biggest polls in UL. I'm in talks with DeLorme now, so I'll post again when I know for sure when we're going to drop the InReach.
Hoping the inReach takes the win. Would like to get my hands on one, especially for when I take solo camping trips.
You can now receive weather forecasts with either the SE or Explorer models. http://www.inreachdelorme.com/product-info/inreach-weather.php
I have the InReach SE, ACR PLB and goTenna. The InReach and PLB have their niche but I get the most use from the InReach (thankfully) . The goTenna was bought on a whim and seems to work ok on short distance and I can see definitely see it replacing my walkie talkies. It should be noted that Garmin bought out Delorme so there may be something new -- I hope anyway because the the InReach Explorer is an awful GPS unit. I can only wish they combine the utility of the InReach SE with the Garmin's GPSMap.
DeLorme was bought by Garmin recently, so we'll be seeing a new generation of these soon!
I added the in-reach again by mistake. I wasn't sure if the first one was for the older in-reach or the newer explorer model.
Planning to buy one this year or next (inreach)....a good MD deal would move that up.
Super important drop! Hope we'll see inReach available for a lower price. I've used it several times and it's great.
