Silhouette Machines

I've seen Portrait bundles for as low as $129 in the past so at first glance, unbundled at $145 sounds a bit high to me. Another site had a one day Cameo Bundle on today that was similar to what you had originally offered but it was $249.99 and it sold out quickly. I'm more interested and hopeful the $199 Cameo deal will be available again sometime in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed :-)

Yeah, I looked around a bit and found a Portrait Bundle offered somewhere else for $139 (with some vinyl and transfer tape). This is helpful because when we talk to Silhouette, we can negotiate better prices by pointing at other deals :) Given our relationship with them I imagine we'll be able to beat that. Missy and K, thanks for the great feedback about the machine, I'm sure its helpful to people that are on the fence. What's missing is whether there's lots of demand or not in the crafting community for this deal.
I have the precursor to the Silhouette Portrait (the Craft Robo - same machine just a much earlier version) & it has served me very well for the past 7 years. It still works just as well as the day I bought it (It was much pricier then I can assure you LOL). I personally would be more interested in the Cameo for the larger cutting width, however I agree that the price for the Portrait is a great deal and unless you need to have something cut 12 by 24, the Portrait is more than sufficient. You can turn your project sideways in the software and cut that way at 8 x13.
Years ago I was making signs professionally. Then I moved on to the restaurant business. I designed and printed all my menus. When I moved into the "fast food" aspect of the business, I wanted to make some outdoor signage so I purchased a small cutting unit but it came with limited features (and a very costly price) namely that it could only cut an 8" letter max. This machine has worked for me for 10+ years. I would say that offering the Silhouette Portrait for that price is VERY affordable, especially when you think of all the many features included in the software that is included. If I am correct, the only difference between the Portrait and the Cameo is that the Portrait has a cutting width of 8" and the Cameo is 12". You can do many things even with the 8" width so don't think you HAVE to have the Cameo when the Portrait will do just fine for most projects.
Is there a lot of interest in this? Silhouette was really happy with the Massdrop for the Cameo, but they want to hold off on rerunning it for the timebeing. Should we setup a massdrop for the Portrait instead? If there's enough interest, the price (unbundled) would be around $145. Let me know what you think, and if you're interested and know other people that would be interested, share this poll and get them to come vote!
