KITTYI am of the same mindset. Although I want an aluminum case for my Poker 2, it would be much more cost effective to just buy the Pok3r at this point.
confedI like the Pok3r case but a CNC-machined and anodised case is really much nicer than a powder-coated and cast one so consider that when comparing the price.
QuickLimeThis price is not stupid. I've been looking for the pink one for a bit now and the only place I could find it was at Pexon for £75, which is a good price, albeit a bit more than here. But then you factor in the cost if shipping to the states and things get pretty pricey. Plus it is listed as a preorder item, so it won't ship right away no matter what.
As for the CorusKB Amazon listing, it is a pattern with CorusKB to put their stuff on sale whenever it is listed on MD. I'm not saying that is bad at all, but that isn't the everyday price.
InanisIf you want the pink one then I guess it's alright, but for the silver one it's just plain dumb that it's the same price (it's actually more now, until the drop has more joiners) and qualifies for prime. I'm not blaming it on MassDrop, I'm just stating that I disagree with their pricing right now, as it's not very competitive. Corus also stated they would think about stocking the pink one if enough people were interested.
manapuaThe gold is currently the same price, until the drop hits 10 people. It's not a terrible price, it's just not quite what I would expect from MassDrop. If it was a specialty limited run I could understand, or a small company such as TEX, but considering it's stocked by Corus on Amazon I think the price should've been adjusted is all.
ajsalminenFair enough. Granted, the price for them is generally pretty high anyway unfortunately, seeing as they can also be gouged by VAT and customs, in addition to the shipping. All I'm trying to say is that MassDrop probably could've priced it more competitively.
QuickLimeI think it is competitive. I think that CorusKB is a relatively new company and they are trying to generate business by putting their stock on sale for the same price, or close to the same price as a direct competitor. This is good business strategy, particularly since they have it in stock and can ship quickly through Amazon, whom most people trust. There it is on sale, it is not the everyday price. If it were, then I would agree, MD should do better. But Corus is willing to make lower profit in order to directly compete with the MD price in hopes of getting more return customers.
Since I'm in the USA, If they had the pink one in stock for the same price they have the silver at I'd probably get it through them. But since I want pink, I'm very happy with going through MD and waiting out the delivery.
