Adding/Including Memories
I lost my dad last year (2023) and have been finding ways to include keepsakes/memories in my workstation. I've dabbled here and there with doing small woodworking projects and attempted a wrist rest from a piece of oak I picked up with him from my great uncles wood shop. I milled it to fit a 60% keyboard as I hadn't decided what keyboard I would be using it on and thought that's where most of my wrist would be in contact even typing on a full keyboard. I gave it a torched/burn appearance as I really was lost in what to do. I found an old shell casing from going hunting with my dad in my hunting pack and decided to imbed it into the end of the wrist rest so it would just have a little difference and a small story behind it as well. I have other things around my workstation from family and friends, but it just feels a little more special having worked on it and adding something small that has a memory for me to it. We are very careful to say that every body is different. And that some people are more leg or more torso, if you read all of the comments. I am 1" taller than you and fit perfectly in this chair and my feet easily touch the ground. So, please, let's find a way to make you happy with your purchase. We can probably send you a new gas lift that will take care of this, please write us at service@akracing.com and we'll get you taken care of. Please give us some extra time to respond as several of our staff are at Pax West this holiday weekend so the office is short staffed tomorrow and Tuesday.
I say that as I just had someone who is 5'9" & 160lbs sit in the chair and their feet touched the floor no problem. Also, I had someone who is 5'7" and 120lbs sit in the chair and their feet touched the floor (of course the chair is too big for the person that is 5'7" but their feet still touched the floor) Both of these people are normal leg/torso per portioned as well.
I think something might not be assembled correctly or maybe the the gas lift did not get locked into position in the chair, or maybe its even possible that the height setting of the chair is not all the way down. I am not sure, and I am not assuming either. Something just does not add up here as if you are 5'11" regardless of your torso/leg ration you should have not problems fitting in this chair.
Again, sorry for the experience you are having and the AKRacing team will make sure you are taken care of.
Cheers.
