It's too bad that the Canadian Dollar has taken such a dive. When you factor in shipping and currency conversion, Canadians can get it for the same price at ncix (with their free ground shipping) and probably receive it faster. Not the fault of Massdrop, but disappointing.

anakinI almost went and bought it from NCIX just now when you mentioned. Total was $3 more and shipping would be 2-8 days. Only reason I went with here was I was able to pick the omnidirectional mic. NCIX has only the Unidirectional. I'm pretty sure the former is the newer. I understand they both do different things for specific reasons but for ease of hearing I figure Omnidirectional is better for my purposes.

MajorAnubisWhat mic us best for voip during gaming ? Omni seems like it would not be as good as noise cancelling ?

thrgkYou'd want noise cancelling. Omni is more for podcast when other people are in the room etc.

thrgkI would imagine it depends on your setup. Speakers, closed headphones, open headphones, digital/analog or mechanical keyboard would all factor in to which is best for you. But I have a feeling even with omnidirectional there is still some sense of background noise cancellation. Me, I just want to have it in a nice position and let it hear me, not forced to work it to a certain angle. If they here my open headphones explosions or mech KB so be it.
But generally I would agree with Hellsrage
