Loko8Both options here are Omni-directional. Omni-directional picks up the sound from all directions - for a conference call with multiple people in the room, for instance. If you are using it for gaming it will also pick up the sound of your mom yelling at you. Uni-Directional only picks up the sound from one direction - ideally you. Generally, you can get them with a mute button, which will mute the mic, or you can get the mic with no mute button so it is just always on.
