Definitely flimsy-feeling and a little too slippery to the touch, with text that's a little bit on the blurry side, almost as though you wrote a letter and the paper got wet. The grey keycaps are a little darker than it shows in the pictures as well.
On the other hand, the set is only $45, making it a good alternative to folks who don't want to spend big on something like Drop's own "Drop + MiTo DCS Sleeper Custom Keycap Set", which is a little under 3x the price. Still, I kind of wish I had just bit the bullet and went with the Sleeper instead.
I really like the smooth, ceramic like feel to the switches. I cant explain them but they feel really nice on the fingers, really good quality for the price, and sound amazing with Kang Whites
While I am somewhat new to the realm of mechanical keyboards, these are not the first keycaps I have ever purchased. Previously, I have bought sets from bigger, name-brand vendors such as Glorious. Compared to those sets, the packaging on this one was quite basic. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but some of the keys did get jumbled in shipping.
As for the keys themselves, I think they are a great value for the price. Their texture is almost slick, which I was not expecting. Yet they feel well made, sturdy, and with no discernible blemishes across the legends. Also, I have them paired with TTC Matrix-01 tactile switches in a NK87EE. They give a satisfying amount of deep clack when typing.
My one complaint is that RGB lighting shines through the white caps like crazy. I feel that may drive me to buy a different set so the lighting of my setup is more consistent.
Time will tell how they hold up to wear and tear, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase additional Artifact Bloom sets in the future based on my experience with these.
I should preface this review by saying that these are the first set of keycaps I've purchased, so all of this comes from the perspective of someone who isn't extremely experienced.
I received my package in a timely manner and in good condition. I think the box these shipped in is just slightly too small for the plastic trays it contains, but it's nothing detrimental to the product itself.
The keycaps themselves seem to be of very high quality. The material is thick and the construction seems quite robust. The legends are crisp, clean, and consistent across all of the keycaps. I appreciate the quality of these relative to the price.
They feel great to type on. They've got a distinct surface finish that makes them feel silky under my fingers. Just the right amount of texture for a keycap.
Overall, I would recommend these to any beginner. I think I would have preferred double shot, but for $45 I can't complain at all. Absolutely excellent for the price.
