noisyturtleI agree with the high DPI being for the most part useless. However, higher end mice do tend to offer other benefits, such as a higher quality sensor, laser or optical, more tactile buttons, weight customization, DPI customization, and more mouse buttons.
The sensor plays a huge role for a mice's ability to track on certain surfaces, translate it into 1:1 movement, prediction, and acceleration (none to some).
In my experience, laser mice tend to have a diminished ability to track at a 1:1 ratio and have some acceleration. One of the most annoying thing about the G9(x), was the liftoff distance was huge.
In comparison, the G502 tracks better (except glass or glossy surfaces), has more of a neutral (centred sensor) placement of the sensor, no acceleration, and better translation of hand movements.
SagaraSit's less about the sensor more about the surface. Shitting on sensors, yeah, everyone can do that on the internet. Defending the sensors, not a lot of people do it.
Mouse pads, a few people bash them, but most people just say "fantastic, my mouse works"
The interesting thing is all mouse pads can't adjust to sensors, but more and more sensors can adjust to mouse pads.
people flame 9500/9800 cus they do not work well/perfect on a lot of common mouse pads. Nothing the mouse pads can do. Nothing the users can do but to buy pads that DO work with 9500 OR flame the thing to death and jump back to their beloved 3090/3310/3366, the thing is mouse pads are generally cheaper than mouse, so they are being stupid cus they could have saved some cash and changed their pad instead lawl.
