Product Description
It’s hard to miss the biggest feature of the BNK9 Macropad—both literally and figuratively. That’s because this little macropad features one giant, machined-turned aluminum knob as its main fixture, which is assignable via QMK or VIA to offer scrollable, adjustable control over your setup Read More

Can the rotary encoder be used to tune a radio in an SDR application?

If your PC’s SDR program interface has assignable keys for frequency up/down (typically arrows), then most likely yes, it will function. My main concern for this product would be that fact that they use an encoder with clicks instead of smooth rotation. While that might be fine for screen scrolling, it might not be the best for your application. I’ve used similar encoder dials before that clicked for my amateur radio remote controllers and ended up filing them down so rotational movement is continuous and smooth, more like a normal radio dial. Because the keys light up and it looks well-built, I’ve been eyeing this for a nice controller for remote access of my radio station and would be willing to risk trashing the warranty and file down the click mechanism - but that’s just me. Best of luck!
