How is the battery changed on this thing? I found somewhere that the whole watch has to be nearly taken apart -> will watch battery places be able to perform service on this? What is the expected battery life?

blauRead post 4 and 5 in this discussion. Short answer to your question - no, there is a cap on the back, almost any watch repair places are able to perform this.

blauAll of the BN0035 models including the ceramic models have a stainless steel case back (cap on the back) which can be opened to replace the battery. I think there may be a confusion with the Braun 0095 model which has the same dial layout but a different case. The Braun 0095 model does not have a case back (cap on the back) and it does have a more complicated battery replacement process.
