I have this for my coffee station in the office and I can say it creates a good espresso with a decent crema. It uses a lot more pressure to press the kompresso compared to the aeropress.

bananapotatoThanks for sharing actual experience! Sounds like it does its job.
Despite all the faff us coffee eggheads make about crema though, it's not that important re: taste. Have you tried making a long black with this? How would you rate it?

bananapotatoWhat's your grind like for this? True espresso?

ronCYAI received my Kompresso just last week and I haven't tried making a long black - not a fan of it. I'd say this device is a 7/10. It can produce a decent espresso but can be messy sometimes because the basket is quite small, though it can be solved by using a DIY funnel. And you can't polish the puck using the provided scoop/tamper because of the Cafflano branding embossed on the scoop.

Dr.McCoyYup, true espresso. I used Zassenhaus Panama at the finest setting before but it was still too coarse. Bought a Lido 3 a few days later and I'm very happy with it. I use 3 notch on my Lido 3.

bananapotatoAh each to their own then, I love the taste and feel of a long black in my mouth!
It still sounds interesting and from your descriptions better than the AeroPress in at least some ways. I've already got two APs so I'd have to get this just out of curiosity. Thanks for noting the inconveniences to work around.

bananapotatoInteresting. Yeah I was wondering if my L2 would be sufficient or I would need a LE. Good to know the L3 works!
I mean, I didn't buy it. But maybe next time I'll have the scratch.

bananapotatoRealistically, pressure is what makes the difference between an espresso and coffee. So that's a good thing!
