On the - ahem - face of it, you know exactly and simply what you're getting with Drop's MT3 Noveltycats: four Row 0 MT3 keycaps with a familiar cat face on each of them. The keycaps arrived exactly as shown in the picture in a nice little case. I was happy to get these and I felt as though I had voted with my dollar: I'd love it if Drop did more work for charity in the future.
Having said that, the reason I'm taking a star off of my rating of these keycaps is twofold: Firstly, Drop made three of the four keys a shade of blue; a variety in color would have went a long way and there are so many MT3 sets that could have benefited here. The second reason is that Drop never told us how much they donated to the ASPCA for their month-of-June donation. The point of this sale was "to honor June's Adopt a Shelter Cat Month". It would have been nice to hear details about our money going to the cause.
I'm still new to mechanical keyboards, so I didn't know what MT3 profile was. They're VERY tall, and don't match the rest of my keycaps. But i don't care. The cat is cute (I'd recognize Jiji anywhere), and the money goes to a good cause. So they are happily sitting over on my F13-F16 keys. After reading into the background story, I bought a second set just to show support.
Caps are high quality as you'd expect, and come in nice packaging. More textured than I was expecting. Print is slightly less crisp than the renders, but nothing deal breaking.
The caps are all R1 for MT3 profile, it would have been nice to have a mix or a selection in case we wanted to put it somewhere else, but I won't dock points since it's pretty clearly indicated on the product page.
The spread of colors is nice, and you can make them work on a variety of boards.
