I have no experience with these thermometer. Has anyone used similar products? I'm wondering if there's any use for it with an oven(as I have to shut the oven door on it).

ElevasI have used 2-3 similar to this type of thermometer (NOT THIS EXACT ONE!) in my kitchen (and on the grill!) over the last few years and I find them indispensable, although 2/3 broke randomly. I love being able to relax while something is cooking and get beeped at when it reaches the right temp! No more manual checking nonstop
Overall, they are fantastic to have and use but just make sure to have a "manual" backup somewhere still in case something happens :)

ElevasIn case anyone wonders, no problem to shut the oven door. At least mine has a rubber around the door. I've used mine successfully to measure oven temp and meat temp at the same time.
