I’ve had the DACport Slim for a lot of years and it went from being with me in the Marine Corps to sadly being homeless, and yet through it all I am absolutely amazed at the beating it took but still looked new and better yet, never lost a beat. Unfortunately the headphone input finally loosened enough to cause some slight crackling between channels when the cable moved.
I wrote a heartfelt and humbling letter explaining where we had been and Mr Goodman, the CEO, responded personally. At this moment it is at their shop being looked over and refreshed. The company’s level of customer care and quick response is second to none, and the fact the owner is so hands on; between reading emails, posting on sites, attending to his clientele, and employees, should make anyone want to invest their dollars with the company he built.
I’m currently in school studying to be a Mastering Engineer and I have recommended not only their top notch products, but the company itself, because of what they stand for as well as providing long term support for their products. One of my professors is so impressed with the product he purchased that he is including it in his syllabus as a recommended item for studio use.
I can’t wait until I have enough funds saved to upgrade to the HD version, because if it is anywhere near the quality of the Slim, as I told Mr. Goodman, he has, without a doubt, earned a customer for life. Great customer service, hands-on ownership, happy employees, and build quality second to none, their products should be on your short list of items to test and review.
