Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. I then handed the Mojo over to my buddy in the next cubicle that has the MD Fostex THX-00 cans and a Micca Origen+ (DAC/AMP). He also confessed that he didn't think he could do a blind test to pick the best DAC. He did comment that he felt the Mojo's amp component had a lot of power that he felt the Origen couldn't match. At the end of the day he said that he felt I should keep the Mojo and sell the other gear on my desk to help cover the cost. I think he just likes saying "Mojo Baby!" with an Italian accent. He went around the office and told people that he stole my Mojo.
All in all I think I want to keep the Mojo. Why you may ask? It is just an awesome, portable dac/amp that I actually could drop in my backpack and take anywhere. I think I may start to buy and download DSD files in the future only problem with DSD is finding an app to convert to PCM. Any suggestions?
