MenhirIt's mostly people that didn't read the estimated shipping dates, and/or people who haven't used the site before, Using Amazon Prime can really spoil someone when it comes to shipping times ;)
OmegaKIt's less about people being 'spoiled' and more about being told 2 days ago that the order would be sent to them yesterday and we would be updated when it was sent. I'm sorry if i have realistic expectations when it comes to ordering items on the internet.
bodybombsThe thing about it is that this is not just ordering an "item on the internet" as it usually is with most sites, this is a group buy shipping isn't quite handled the same as when you order it off Amazon or Newegg, and I agree if the last update said CM would ship the item off to Massdrop yesterday and we haven't gotten an update is a bit crappy, but again its a group buy not an average single item order.
OmegaK@OmegaK: They are already late based on the (extremely generous 14 day/10bizday) shipping times. Not sure why you are speculating on what others have read or not read.
@Mark: I think you may be underestimating the number of people who become concerned when they send money to a company *up-front* and then receive very little information about the status of the products they were promised in exchange for their dollars. Definitely doesn't make a good impression. Note that, while Amazon has a very different business model and obviously ships extremely fast, they also only charge their customers when the item ships out. This is a big distinction in my mind; once you have my money you better keep me in the loop about what is going on with it.
I admit that some people may not be happy about lots of emails, but that seems to be the exact point of this discussion section, no? I would think after the original 14 days were up, responding promptly to questions on this forum would be a very minimal step to keep customers up-to-date.
matt5784@matt5784 they were late one business day when @nelson updated everyone on here, many people where asking and wondering what was going on with the shipping when it stated in the description that it was a "estimate" of 10 business days, that's the only reason why I speculated that at least a hand full of people had not read all the way through the description of their purchase is all. Heck at least one person in a previous comment at least admitted that he hadn't caught that last part of the shipping.
OmegaKI don't want to ruffle any feathers or rustle anyone's jimmies, but the shipping said "10 days after the drop".
I assert that it has since been modified for this drop, after it ended, to include the word "estimated", in what appears to be a stealthy attempt to cover someone's backside.
bonesetterDamn if that's true then that sucks, but still with just tiny bit of research of the site you can easily find info saying that the shipping on here is a long and tedious process due to it being a group buy. I honestly don't remember the word estimated not being on there.
OmegaK@bonesetter, @omegak The word "estimated" is built into our template, it's not added after the fact. All of our pages use it, because when we place an order, we have little to no clarity in terms of when exactly the distributor/manufacturer will ship product to us. Generally we know, a day before it arrives at our warehouse (to schedule the truck's drop-off), or the date of arrival (when the truck arrives).
