First, the photos don't do this container justice. It looks much better in person, when you actually hold it in your hand. It is thick and sturdy, but light and very well made. Its fit and finish are superb. The gasket fit design of the lid is better than the lid design in other machined containers I've seen that use screw-in threads because threads can wear out after enough usage due to wear and tear of metal-on-metal moving parts. And when the threads do wear out, those containers become useless, unlike this Craighill container where you can replace the gasket if it wears out. Also, the lid has a tight fit on the container, as it should, and can be very easily removed by twisting it off. The container is definitely much more durable and longer lasting than mint tins that can be easily crushed or cheap plastic boxes that can easily crack or break. It can certainly withstand the test of time, unlike these other cheaply made throw-aways. As a machined object by itself, even if it doesn't serve an immediately obvious useful purpose for the owner, this container stands alone as a stunning work of beauty. Its thickness, somewhat bowl-like profile, and sculptural shape of the lid remind me of clay ceramic wares. This might be a reason why Craighill chose to call this container a vessel. As for me, I use it to store my $4,000+ digital hearing aids when I'm not wearing them on the go, for example, if there is pouring rain outside or if I know I'm going to get very wet and dirty. It is sturdy and protective enough for what I need. For the one-time $40 I paid for it, I would say that it was a good investment and just about as good as an insurance policy against damage to my hearing aids. Even if I did have a hearing aid insurance policy that completely covered replacement cost, it would still be a big problem for me to not be able to wear the hearing aids while I waste time filing a claim and waiting for the new hearing aids to arrive. So in that sense, this container is also a good investment that will save time and prevent quality-of-life issues for me. I can imagine that it can also be used to store expensive, high-performance IEMs that some people use to listen to music and can be just as good an investment for them as well that can similarly save time and money.

This is a really nice and durable container

After I received this item I handled it a bit before I put my favorite shaving cream inside. I like the feel of it and I like the quantity of shaving cream I can put inside. This vessel is going to work just fine for my travels as well as at home. It looks great on the bathroom counter top along with my other shaving gear. I choose the grey steel version as it easier for me to spot in my bags. The black is attractive too, but my eyes struggle to find all the tactical black items at the bottom of my bag so I decided to add a little color to my gear. I do like my choice and it looks just as good as it performs. The O-ring on the lid is firm and will keep any moisture out, if empty I believe the vessel will float although I have not tried that out.

Quality build! Pain to open.

The build quality is surprisingly good but the biggest design flaw of this product is that the gaskets can get very tight and the lid won't pop off easily (Had to use plastic pryers!).

Expensive container for its quality control.

I purchased two vessels, one black and one silver. The finish on the black is really nice, but some of the inside isn't fully anodized. The silver one came was worse. I don't know if its the anodization process, but there is a bubbles inside and right were the o-ring sits and the metal becomes scratchy. There is a good chance the o-ring might not hold up.

Beautiful and well built

An amazingly solid piece, and really beautiful to behold. I'd happily buy more. One thing to note: once closed, it's very hard to open. I had to buy an opening tool, which is the only successful way I've been able to consistently open the vessels.

Surprised at how much I like this

I bought this on a bit of a whim since I was close to free shipping with my original order and I like it way more than excepted. Its beautiful, very well made, and bigger than I expected, so it’s ending up as a useful container. My only complaint is that the pressure fit is a bit tight. I hope (and assume) it will get looser over time, though I have never owned anything with a pressure fit like this. It may have been better just with threads, but there is something pleasant about the simplicity. I would love to own more if only they were less expensive.

Love it.

Love this Craighill Press Vessle. Superb Finish and compact size. The rubber casing on it makes it 100% waterproof and is quite tight as a fit. I'm sure my medicines or other items will be safe in there. I started throwing it in my backpack a few months ago, has not failed me yet.
