I am not sure if anyone can help me but I figure i can ask. I missed this drop but I can get a katana special ordered for me form a local computer place. The cost will be 340 Canadian. How is the sound of this sound bar. I know that there are lots of other alternatives that cost less and sound good but this bar is simple and straight forward I would fit well under my 27 inch monitor. my current speakers are Logitech Z623. any help that you can give will be appreciated. Thanks

Drwho27There's a headphone and microphone jack on it. I'm not sure how good or bad you are benchmarking surround, it's good to me but I can't comment for you on this.
Drwho27I'm getting one for review shortly, and I'll tell you what I think (if I remember lol, I'll post a review in a few places under username Evshrug).
In general, Creative does headphone jacks well, and is one of the best at headphone surround. It seems like this model does more of a spacialization "two-channel out front" kind of headphone DSP rather than headphone surround, I prefer the latter but the former can be a pleasant effect and is better suited for music. EDIT: This can decode Dolby bitstreams sent over Optical, and does full headphone surround in that situation. When fed 2-channel information, the DSP can at least help take the sound “out of your head” and make it sound more speaker-like.
I bought a pair of Logitech for my wife (performing Zumba fitness) and they sounded surprisingly good for the price, but it's not too hard to improve on that, and I feel that if this Katana sounds anything on the level of Creative's iRoar, then it should sound crisper and louder than the Logitech.

Drwho27If you're in Ontario, I can sell you mine for 320. Still new with receipt and everything. Save yourself some tax and a small discount for my having it hooked up for about a week. Let me know.
