Creative Sound BlasterX Katana

Since introducing the popular Sound Blaster series of sound cards, Creative has earned a reputation for its high-quality audio products spanning headsets, speakers, amplifiers, and DACs. The Katana is the latest in the Sound BlasterX series. Ideal for gamers with multi-monitor setups and widescreen displays, the Katana is a slim under-monitor audio system with five separate drivers, Dolby Digital technology, and customizable RGB lighting. Its proprietary multi-core DSP allows you to tweak your sound however you like. 

The Katana consists of two pieces: the main speaker and subwoofer, which totals a whopping 150 watts. With a BlasterX acoustic engine and a Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder, it reproduces 24-bit high-resolution audio the way it was meant to be heard—whether buzzing bullets, enemy footsteps, soft dialogue, or other key details. It features a five-driver design comprising two up-firing midbass drivers, two high-excursion tweeters, and a long-throw subwoofer, each of which is individually powered by a DSP-controlled amp. Speaking of amps, the Katana’s got three: one for lows, mids, and highs. This makes for excellent balance across your favorite games, movies, and music.

Aesthetically, the Katana is as sharp as the sword it’s named after. At just just 2.5 inches tall, it features a sleek, brushed aluminum chassis to complement your monitor. Lining the bottom of the main unit are 49 LEDs, so you can choose from over 16 million different colors and six preset modes to set the tone in your gaming lair. In addition, the Katana has four pre-programmed audio settings including Game, Concert, Cinema, and Night modes.
