Notwithstanding minus comments, here's some plus:
* James Williams is the designer
* Design based on Japanese samurai tanto
* (Have to assume that the design is proven)
* Blade shape is in the Osoraku style, characterized by the secondary primary grind that results a very long upswept and acute "kissaki" / point
* This shape facilitates both "cut and thrust" techniques (not a "tool" knife)
* It's a flipper for ease of deployment and provides a bit of a finger guard
* The handle is relatively thin / flat, making the knife easier to carry and grip
* The handle also flares at the end, facilitating retention
* Deep-carry pocket clip
In short, the price point / value is driven by the design. Research Sensei Williams as you like.
Hope this helps get some more commitments to decrease the drop price :-)
Thank you.
SteverinoSo it's not a tool, I assume you're saying it's a weapon. I guess this knife is for those times when you've stabbed so many folks that their viscera and sinew is jamming up the action, yet you don't have any tools on hand to disassemble the knife?
I can see how that could come in handy, but it rarely comes up for me.
SteverinoI was attempting a bit of absurd humor. I failed. I'm not good at conveying tone. Hope you enjoy your knife, everyone values different aspects of their purchases differently.
