The CSTC40 is a high-end choice for a barebones 40% keyboard kit, because it brings all the features you’ll want from an enthusiast setup, without any unnecessary bells and whistles. At just 9 inches wide and a little over 3 inches tall, the keyboard streamlines your setup with an ortho layout that’s cozy and comfortable—all while maintaining plenty of desk space around it. The sleek plastic case—available in either black or white—provides a nice home for the PCB, which has been programmed and outfitted for easy building right out of the box. The PCB is also hot-swappable and ready for whatever switches you want, features a single USB-C connection, and supports all customization software, including VIA and QMK, so you can keep your setup working exactly as you like it. (Note that this kit does not include keycaps or switches.)
