It's surprisingly good
The probes are well made but the insulation is PVC, so in the cold they become very stiff. In warmer weather they are acceptable. Considering the features and the price, it's very capable and offers a lot. The only thing is, it is a bit slow, trade offs are a thing. The kick stand is almost useless for me, it always wants to fall over if I dare to use it. Duty cycle and capacitance is really handy though. I'd buy it as a starter meter for sure.

Measurements are off
First, I had it for a couple of months before I took it out of the box, AC measurements are off and it will not measure DC voltage at all...

Thanks for the reminder, I will look into it... I got it to replace my trustly Fluke that went on the blink... (granted, it has been over twenty years.)

roissyHopefully a good 9V Alkaline, from a good brand does the trick. Those carbon core aka heavy duty cells can be so unreliable. Hopefully a simple thing makes it work good for you. Hopefully it at least matches the 20 year old Fluke.

I bought two of theDMM453 meters for $35 each. They really work perfectly even compared to my 25 year old $425 Fluke 87. The temperature probe and non contact voltage sensor are great. Size is nice and controls are logican. It’s a great buy. Last week I even ordered the $36 DMM350 pen-type meter.

Aside from some of the obvious competitors (Fluke for instance), I feel like this is the best Multimeter in my toolbox. The temperature sensor is a great addition but I really can't say that I have a single complaint yet. I especially love the battery saving feature that emits a beep if the multimeter is still running after a certain amount of time; saves on buying 9 volt batteries prematurely. If your thinking of getting this one because the competition is a bit expensive then press the button and rest assured; You won't regret buying this.
