Product Description
When you bought an Apple Macintosh computer in the early 1990s, you received the Apple Extended Keyboard II (AEKII) along with it. While it may seem ordinary by modern standards, it was this very keyboard that would become a benchmark for future full-size boards—a legend of its time and still today Read More

Very high quality set
These keys are incredibly comfortable to type on and because of the build quality, produce an amazing sound as well. The legends look great and I love the choice of having different coloured modifiers

Fantastic
The MT3 profile feels great and sounds great. I do have to say that the scooped F and J don't stand out under the fingertips as much as I'd have hoped, but that's a minor detail. These keycaps look even better in person than in the photos, and the splash of color from the accent modifiers is spot on. My wife even took note (and I try not to go on about keyboards too much with her) and called these "cute." In terms of legends, the mute button is just slightly lower (at least to the eye) than the other volume adjustment buttons, which is a little weird. I'd have wished for a more obvious Fn key (I'm using the >_ key for that purpose, since that's the only accent modifier not otherwise accounted for), and the rendition of the Delete key is a bit cryptic. Overall, though, a fantastic set.

The keycaps are really great. But, my keycap tray arrived with thermal deformation. That's why I can't give it 5 stars.

Love the profile, but the Ergo kit is poorly thought out
I've used and loved the MT3 profile on a more standard keyboard, and was really excited to see Drop finally offering an Ergo kit in MT3, since I use an ErgoDox as my daily driver. I wish I'd paid a bit more attention to the diagram for the Ergo kit before ordering, though -- there are some really odd decisions for what keycaps to offer in what positions, very few keys that can be substituted in for some of them while respecting the profile, and some substitutions that don't make much sense. I realize that an Ergo kit is probably one of the trickier ones to do well, since people have such individual layouts, but this doesn't seem to have been put together with flexibility in mind. The biggest key issues for me were:
  • No R3 escape key (for those who put escape where caps-lock goes)
  • No alternate R1 1.5U for the top left (I'd want a backtick key there)
  • No provision for right outer column punctuation, which I think is a pretty common setup -- I would have liked a 1.5U R2 backslash and a 1.5U R3 quote
  • No correctly-oriented alternates for the inner column -- they can be swapped for other R3 1.5U caps, but there aren't any that make sense there. And all four of them are duplicated with the same symbols in the thumb clusters
  • The rune-like delete key (which I'd prefer not to use) is in two positions on the board, neither of which have alternates. It seems especially odd to use the same symbol twice, both in places where it can't be swapped out
  • The horizontally oriented 1.5U R5 caps -- where were they imagining those would go? Maybe they're for non-ErgoDox ergo boards, because there is no where on an ErgoDox that you'd put them
  • In general, no blank caps and few generic ones for adapting an unusual layout (I love having the _option_ of labeled caps for the extra keys, but it would be nice not to be stuck using them when they don't match up)
Overall the caps are nice, and they feel good to type on, but I wouldn't recommend them for an Ergo setup unless you either don't care what symbols are on most of your keycaps, or happen to have a layout that aligns with Drop's weird decisions.

Love MT3 profile and colors
Loving the set, the accent colors, and the icon set. Made myself a matching headphone cable to go with it. Keycaps have a very nice thocc to them and a very soft micro-texture to them.

This keycap set is my first foray into the mechanical keyboard community, and what a set to start out with. Feels great to type on and the typography/iconography design was exactly what I was looking for: something uniquely Mac- and vintage-inspired. Pairs great with the RAMA WORKS KARA keyboard in the Soya color.

mt3 profile nice like the ones we are used by matt3o and mito however not so attention to detail like the other sets. i got the iso uk set and guess what the legend on 3 uses different font size compared with the rest. if you do not want uk iso is fine
