Product Description
To put it simply, the CTRL mechanical keyboard has it all. Constructed with a solid aluminum frame with a built-in switch plate, it’s stable and fortified Read More
My keyboard history:
Keyboard #1: Ducky - LEDs died within a year. A piece of junk, but hooked me on mechanical keyboards.
Keyboard #2: WASD Code - great keyboard, lasted for a couple of years, but (a) the ABS keys eventually wore through and (b) there are better switches than Cherry MX Browns, so . . .
Keyboard #3: CTRL - fantastic keyboard. Outfitted with Hako Royal Clears for most of the keys, except for some keys (like Enter) which got a Kailh Box Navy (for a little click) and some keys (like the shift keys) which got Hako True Violets (my pinkies don't bang the keys as hard as the rest of my fingers).
The CTRL is probably the last keyboard I'll ever need. Don't like the switches? Swap 'em out! Don't like the backlight colors? Reprogram 'em. Don't like they keycaps? Buy new ones.
Now all I need is a 21-key numeric keypad to match it. (NUM Mechanical Keyboard, anyone?)
UPDATE Feb 2, 2021: Still love this keyboard. No double-typing issues (yet). Still waiting for a matching keypad . . .
Got mine yesterday and couldn’t be happier with it. The board is absolutely gorgeous. Everything works great and the led features and bright and vibrant. 10/10 would buy again but I hope they don’t make it again so I can lord it over all my friends hahaha. Can’t wait to get some of the key caps I’m waiting on from massdrop to customize it.

Build warning:
This MCU support package has a lack of support from the upstream provider (Massdrop).
There are currently questions about valid licensing, and at this stage it's likely their boards and supporting code will be removed from QMK in the near future. Please
contact Massdrop for support, and encourage them to align their future board design
choices to gain proper license compatibility with QMK.
tMRzjAPBCsSd9D19kzfYmRIs it still true that QMK doesn't support Drop keyboard now? I used QMK to configure my keyboard before now I wish to change again. It is impossible now?
I just wanted to echo the concerns of others. I've spend hundreds on my CTRL including the initial purchase and purchase of an additional aluminum case only to have QMK support be dropped in the future - which is a big reason that I purchased the CTRL in the first place.
This is very concerning. QMK support was a primary reason that I purchased an ALT keyboard, and it's clearly advertised as a selling point in the "Specs."
Drop, please provide support for these keyboards.
I really want to pull the trigger here but this is concerning. Not like this is a little bonus that it supports QMK, it says it in the description. It’s a feature. Does mass drop plan to resolve these issues or instead drop support?
I can only second what others already have written about this issue. The primary reason for me buying the CTRL was its QMK support.
Drop, please publish a statement that all who purchased your QMK keyboards will notice. Come on, this is already half a year old.
This is a big deal to me... I just bought TWO CTRL's over the past 3 months, not knowing that QMK was going to drop it like a cheap suit.... What is going on here... I have $400.00 in two keyboards that won't be supported by QMK because WHY?
Yikes. More and more Drop feels like a vaporware company. Fully expecting that one of these days I'll try to go to Drop.com and see that the website is offline and the domain is for sale
I have an ALT and a CTRL and yes - integration into QMK was *the* reason I bought these boards. This lets me maintain my MKs in a consistent state if they are homebuilt or from Drop. TBH my two favourite keyboards are the ALT and CTRL. Can we get a statement from Drop on this matter please?
