Due to vision problems, I like a dim room. Dim room + vision problems means shine through keycaps is really important to me. There aren't many premium keyboards with north facing LEDs like the CTRL. I bought the V1 version of this keyboard but had to return it because it was just too noisy, had bad stabilizers, and the 3pin PCB made it not worth bothering to mod.
The V2 fixes all that with the same cool case, north facing LEDs, and shine through key caps. It's maybe not quite as "thocky" as a $400 custom. But for the price (especially the sale price), it's a pretty good deal. Considerably better than the similarly priced Keychrons, for example.
I'm very happy I gave this board another try with the V2. And thank you Drop for bucking the south facing LED norm and giving me a keyboard that I can actually see!
This was my first time getting a truly high-end keyboard, I have used Razer products up until now but with how much I use my keyboard for gaming and programming I figured that it would be worth the money to get myself a higher-end keyboard. Getting it I was skeptical about purchasing it but decided to pull the trigger anyway and I'm glad I did. This keyboard sounds, feels, and looks better than all prior keyboards I've used by far (A blackwidow v3 hyperspeed mini and blackwidow chroma stealth). In addition to this, it feels very sturdy and like it has good build quality. So if you are finding yourself in need of a new keyboard and don't mind shelling out some money I would 100% recommend this one to anybody!
