RemohNospmisGood question. We're still deciding on the specific stakes but they'll be in the 8-10g each range likely.
You shouldn't normally need 8 stakes. 4 is a solid pitch, add one to hold whatever door you'll be regularly using, and maybe 2 for the peaks if you expect harsh weather - so 7 total for a very capable stake set. That's about 2oz.

RemohNospmisQuick update: The stakes will be 6g titanium shepard hook stakes. So if you carried 4 of them that would be another 0.8oz. Or 1.6oz if you carried them all.
These stakes will be nice for firmer soils, but if you camp on soft ground you'll want to add 4 wider stakes. The hard thing with choosing stakes is that there isn't one right answer. If we supply wide stakes (e.g. V stakes) then the folks on hard ground will bend them. If we supply skinner stakes, the folks in soft ground won't find they hold well enough. But with these stakes they should work at least partly for everyone, because even if you camp on soft soils you can still use these to stake out the doors, extra points etc that are not as import.
