If you like purple and PBT keycaps, grab these, especially when they go on sale. Spacebar is not warped so that is a huge plus. PBT is thick and provides a nice deep sound finish. Goes great with the laser purple cover for the CSTM80.
After seeing the release of the Akatsuki themed keyboard, I was really hoping to see the keycaps being sold independently. Once it arrived, it felt like Christmas and I couldn't wait to put the caps onto my board and enjoy their beauty.
I have DCX Amethyst and I like those caps too, but I’ve always felt they were a tad too bright/flashy. This indigo set is the perfect tone of a purple keycap set, and for really cheap! It comes with a ton of extra keys for multiple layouts. Might throw them on my Neo Ergo.
Sometimes I don't want to pay as much for keycaps as the rest of the keyboard put together. This set is great for a budget build, and had everything I needed for my slightly weird HHKB layout.
I would definitely buy more sets of these, and would be very interested in something that would fit the Corne as well.
Great colour. There are few sets of purple keycaps, and this set represents the colour very well.
It is fantastic to see some Mac-related keycaps included, although why only icon modifiers for the Mac? The rest of the modifiers have text legends. A little consistency would have been good, although the fault is more likely with the standard modifiers (Ctrl/Win/Alt/Menu) as the rest of the keys have icons (backspace, enter, caps, tab, shift). Bonus points for including Opt keys though - many Apple kits seem to miss those.
As far as legend consistency, the text legends on the bottom row modifiers seem very thin when compared to the other legends, like the F-keys, PrtSc and so on.
The keycaps are a very tight fit, maybe the tightest I have, just pushing Keysterine out of the top spot. I could not get them on Cherry MX Clear RGB switches at all, not without risking damaging the switches when removing the keycaps. I tried another type of switch, and when removing the keycaps about half of the switches pulled out of the board (a hotswap board, fortunately). This is not something I've ever had happen before.
The set is also incomplete - there is no 1.25x "Fn" key at all. What are we supposed to put on the Fn key? There are no 1.25x blanks either. At least there is a "Menu" key (*cough* DCX *cough*), but again only a 1.25x Menu key, no 1x Menu key.
At the price you can't really go wrong, as long as you are prepared to make some compromises for the modifier keys, and are very careful when removing them.
Is this the nicest set I own? Nope. Does this set have the most compatibility of any set I own? Nope. Does this set offer a good value at it's current price. Definitely.
It's a nice color purple, you can see it on my EM8 in the photos section. I have no complaints at this price point and will likely buy more if offered in different colors.
First shipment I received had a warped 7u space bar and the the fitment was too tight on most of the 2u, 2.5u keys. I actually ripped out a stab stem because the shift cap was stuck.
Contacted Drop for an exchange and the replacement was perfect.
Excellent quality caps and the the legends are crisp. Definitely looks more expensive then it's price.
Without the experience of the first bad batch i receive, I would have given it 5 stars, but because the first batch was bad, I am knocking off a star.
