I wanted a mechanical keyboard for ages but didn't know where to start with building one. I had no reference point for what a good setup felt like or what it cost. By the time I drew up a plan for what I wanted (TKL, translucent design, low budget, etc.), I had stumbled upon this unit, and the rest was history.
This Expression series keyboard is excellent value and feels much more premium and long-lasting than I expected.
I have had mine for about a year now, and my only big complaint has been that the high-use keys wear down relatively fast, leaving glyphs faded. However, Drop has already addressed this and even sent me two spare sets of keys free of charge (surprising, given I don't live in the US). The only other thing I wish was possible was for the lighting in the board to be RGB, but I digress. Overall, though, it's a solid keyboard I plan to use well into the future, and Drop's customer support was stellar, as always.
didnt expect to be impressed this much by the switches, they are perfect, nice pleasant bump and the top and a smooth slide to the bottom. my typing accuracy has actually increased coming from linear switches, having the actuation point at top makes it harder to accidentally brush adjacent keys and mess up what youre typing.
I love this keyboard especially in the groggy wee hours of the morning and I leave the lights off and curtains drawn. This keyboard lights up enough to help me slowly wake up. And it’s loud so it helps and I absolutely love it.
when i was waiting for this keyboard, i was about to buy zealios and aliaz switches too. then i got this keyboard and touched it, i just forgot about other keyboards. feels so good and so pretty! sad that it has no bluetooth but it can just be my pretty househusband so.. haha. i’ve heard that the legends could not last long, but that’s my destiny that i chose. 얘는 내 운명이니께~~!~!~!🥰 쓰기 아까워서 똑같은 거 하나 더 사고싶음,, 너무 좋아용🥹🫶
I bought this keyboard to test out the Holy Panda switches because my favorite switches are the Holy Panda X. The Drop + Invyr Holy Panda switches are definitely heavier and have a more defined tactility when compared to the Holy Panda X switches. Another thing to note is the difference in sound because the Holy Panda switches have a deeper sound.
Overall, the keyboard has a solid build quality and I enjoy the white light coming through the clear keycaps. The combination of the salmon color stems with the clear keycaps gives this board a unique and awesome look.
The C key does not register reliably after 3mo of use. A couple keyaps show wear, as well. The switches take quite some force to actuate compared to the KB I used previously.
That said, I was excited to receive this, and I enjoyed using it!
