Update 2023-01-23: Shipping for group buy orders is complete!
Update 2023-01-21: GMK Lime has arrived to the warehouse, and has begun shipping to customers! I anticipate that most, if not all, orders will be shipped out by the end of this next week.
HoffmanMysterIf you ever do another round of this set, please consider making color-swap alphas in that pretty lime green. Would be an instabuy for me. 👍
Hey everyone—we have an important update regarding the Drop GMK Lime Custom Keycap Set buy.
With all the projects we had in process for this season, we were not able to get them all done in the timeframe we originally planned. We're sorry for that and our lackluster communication on the matter, but now we have everything finalized with GMK.
We've been working with them to reschedule the projects that were supposed to launch this quarter, and they have been responsive. We now expect GMK Lime to be delivered to our warehouse no later than the end of March 2023 and ship out to everyone shortly after.
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience while we work to get everything shipped as quickly as possible. As usual, you can review your order at any time by going to your transactions page here: https://drop.com/transactions
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
I'm new to all this, I just built my first Keyboard, the Drop CTRL. Love it! Then I learned about lubing keys, and band-aiding the stabs, key films, and love my keyboard even more. Now I'm trying to figure custom firmware and why ABS is good in high end keys and bad in low end. I guess PBT is in the middle? I want these lime keys so hard, but they literally cost more than my entire build so far when you get the novelties and space bars. Are they really worth it?
ABS plastic caps again? You'd have to be genuinely out of your mind to buy keycaps you intend to use with your fingers in ABS. What even is the point? Are you people mounting them on the wall to look at them? ABS is objectively the worst material to make keycaps out of. Living human tissue has oil and that compound we secrete is a solvent for ABS. Within 1 month of regular use for ANY ABS plastic you'll see the finish start to polish away. At 4 months they'll be tacky and look horrible. Might as well toss your money into a fire. PBT is the only sane option.
ABS? For more than 20 dollars? Why do you guys keep doing this? PBT is the only keycap material worth anything. I don't want shiny polished keys after 3 or 4 months of daily use.
My red samurais start to shine within a month, and gets really bad after a couple months. That was my first pair of GMK. Later I started to baby my GMK keycaps and they don't shine for almost a year, but that is very likely because I always wash my hands before using it and wipe it often.
Unless you have some weird collector fetish where you buy caps you don't use it is insane to buy ABS. They all shine very quickly. I actually use my keyboards constantly and no I don't eat at my keyboard and I'm very hygienic.
