Good deal, good variety

I received a cherry PBT dye sub set, 2 shine through sets, the Drop MT3 Marvel Iron Man set, and metal WASD keys. I think it’s a good variety, and while I didn’t look up pricing for the other sets, the Iron Man set alone is on sale for $99 right now. I’d say this box was a pretty good deal.

Not a bad Haul

For $100 I couldn't ask for a better mystery box considering the MSRP of everything is around $300. The star of the show is obviously the GMK Pixel, I have been wanting to purchase it for the longest time. The rest of them in my mind are just great additions.

Can’t be too disappointed with Cap!

Like everyone else that purchased this, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Reading Drop’s posts regarding the “value” of these mystery boxes, left me optimistic that I would at least get something cool and not end up like Hipyotech with those Idobao mystery boxes. Well, I’m mostly satisfied! As you can see from the photo, I received a complete base kit of Drop + Marvel Captain America (MT3 profile), Artisan kitty paw, and a hodgepodge of other MT3 caps. The Cap set alone puts me at a positive, and it’s actually a set I would consider using (honestly not a fan of MT3 profile, but I do love Cap!). The artisan is meh, but at least it’s not a fidget spinner! The other random caps are complete garbage, and I have zero use for them. All things considered I give this mystery box a 4/5. While I did get my moneys worth, the majority of items received are clearly thrown in to clear out their inventory. I think I would do this again in the future, given my overall positive experience.

Agreed! I’m not disappointed since the value exceeds the cost paid, however it really would have been nice to get something in Cherry, MT2, or DCX profile. Can’t really complain though, since others had it far worse than we did.

OhaiitsmikeIt wasn't bad as I just really started out.. a couple of sets I probably wouldn't have purchased.. but my girlfriend ended up really liking the Oblivion set, so it worked out. Agreed, a little more variety wouldn't have hurt.

Pretty happy with my haul!

This is my first keyboard mystery box and I am glad I did it. I have been eyeing the Samurai and a Dwarf Factory artisan and I got both. I am also fairly new to the custom keyboard group, so this helps me build up some for my collection. I could see how people who are more experienced may not have the same level of excitement. But for people getting into the hobby

BUYER BEWARE **Update: Contacted support and they sent out a novely keycap**

If you are under the impression that the description of the box is true in any way possible, then you are wrong. These are not just a luck of the draw thing, they have different sets of "mystery" boxes that get shipped out to everyone, and you are very likely to get the worst box of them all like me.

Like many other people in these reviews I also got the booby prize which includes SA Carbon Alphas and Bone Mods (which is the only thing with real value here), accompanied with a set of Artifact Shield Purple on Black which is just an awful looking set not going to lie, but whatever. The thing that really makes this box suck is the Astrolokeys Ergo Icons set that is literally missing a keycap, making it absolutely useless. The crème de la crème of the whole box though is the Unknown set of Holiday keycaps, and there was also no Artisan in the box for some reason, despite an individual artisan (or an actual novelty set) being promised in the description of the item. I strongly recommend against buying this box, no matter how tempting it might be to get a "good deal" on this, you are not getting what is advertised if you get this certain set of boxes. **UPDATE: I contacted support right after I made this review, and they came back to me a few days after. There wasn't really any fuss given about the whole situation and they immediately sent out a novelty keycap and said they would be contacting the supplier of the Astrolokeys for the missing keycap issue. The novelty keycap was shipped out shortly after the email was sent out, and that novelty keycap being a Dwarf Factory terrarium keycap. The inclusion of the novelty keycap does atleast make this box a little more worth it because I am actually getting what was advertised to begin with. However, I still believe the box is not worth it overall. The value of the box was always worth it from the beginning if you did the math, but that value is also heavily inflated by the inclusion of things that are simply not worth that much money, for example the astrolokeys ergo dox set which is like $92 for some reason. The fact still stands that these boxes are not really a mystery, because they are just sets of boxes containing the same thing. It might be worth the money, but it definitely is not worth the thrill or the fun. All the charm is taken out of this box when you look at the reviews and photos for it and see everyone getting the same exact thing from all their boxes. Like openning a christmas present and seeing everyone else in the room got the same sweater.

I Got the Booby Prize

When I see the pictures of the good boxes, I'm genuinely happy for the people who received them. Unfortunately, I was not one of those people and got what should be termed the crap box. The meat and potatoes of this box was SA Carbon alphas and Bone Modifiers. It's a nice, classic set. The MSRP is about $150 and this accounts for the bulk of the value of the box.

Next, I got a set of Artifact Shield Purple-On-Black keycaps. Nothing to see here. Drop lists the MSRP at $50, but that seems a little high to me. They're OK, about what I expected, no complaints here.

Here's where it goes downhill. Fast. I got a the Ergo Icon kit from the DSA Astrolokeys set. No alphas, only fits an ErgoDox. I have absolutely no use for this kit. To make matters worse, it's missing a 1u key in the thumb cluster, so it's of no use to anyone. This is literal garbage; I am throwing this away.

Now comes the worst. A set of keycaps only labeled "Holiday Keycaps, Profile/OEM". I can't find these anywhere on Drop or Google. They're hideous and they're not something "in circulation." If they had skipped the Astrolokeys set and these keys, perhaps they could have thrown in an actual artisan.

Are the contents just old sets and old inventory from years past? No. We have mostly included sets that are in circulation and NOT “dead” inventory from years prior. LOL. These most certainly ARE dead inventory from previous years.

I doubt all the Astrolokeys kits were missing a key, I think this was just an isolated mistake. My main complaint is that it's not the TKL layout promised and is not usable without buying more kits (from Drop).

Best keyboard purchase I’ve made!!

Great variety and one of my favorite artesian keycap ever. The gmk pulse made this purchase more than worth it. Only downside I have is the artesian is SA profile while everything else (minus the mt3 accent kit) is cherry profile.

Only recommend for fun

I got gmk pulse base kit, MT3 3277 accent kit, a skylight set, and a dwarf factory artisan, not bad but I don't like the inclusion of accent kits like the mt3, which are unusable unless you already own a set. I'd only recommend this if you want to get it for fun, as it is better to buy a set you want over getting a random set. Also it seems someone else who reviewed got the exact same stuff as me.

Missing keycap

Arrived with a missing keycap from the astrolokeys ergo icon set and didn't come with an artisan. -Rough launch, but support was quick to make up for their mistake. They sent out GMK laser novelties and dwarf factory artisan.
