Quick note - we had made a pricing mistake on the Cyberdeck kit. The pricing is actually $155 (+$95) and not the $60 (+$0). My apologies for the mistake. We will reach out to people that have already purchased the kit.

YanboWuIf any of the orders get cancelled due to the price increase, will the stock be updated live so we can check at all times, or will there be a set time when the stock is refreshed?

YanboWuIf we purchased the Cyberdeck before the price adjustment, will our drop still be secured? Obviously we pay the difference on the keycaps, I just was to make sure my order is secured, I will most definitely pay the difference.

ItsMehRubyCheck your transactions page, looks like it already got adjusted. Since the drop is still live you wont be billed for it until the end, although I've heard there can be issues for people that use PayPal due to their authorization process.

LevelSteamWhat kind of issues? I was charged $147 on Paypal originally, but the price got adjusted and now my receipt says $250, I obviously want to pay the difference, but PayPal still hasn’t charged me for the corrected price. I just want to make sure my order is still secured and in motion.

ItsMehRubyBest way to do it is to cancel the order and place it again. There are Cyberdecks still available for purchase currently. Sold out now. Hold tight we'll see what we can do for the rest of you.

YanboWuHow can I keep my order from getting cancelled? I am not able to cancel my order and place it again, because some of the kits I purchased, like the 625U Space Bars, are sold out. Cyberdeck is also showing as sold out. I knew the $60 price tag for Cyberdeck had to be a mistake when I ordered it, but I figured that Drop would adjust the price before I got charged.

fer.realJust have to wait until some people cancel their orders and wait for them to be available, I figured they would adjust my charge too, but they’re just canceling the orders 12pm pst you’re just going to have to reorder and hope they’re in stock.

fer.realSo if you purchased the keycaps before the corrected the price they will cancel your order at 12pm, they’re not going to invoice you again, unfortunately the order will be canceled. Just wait until 12pm pst. There will be some keycaps available since the incorrect orders are being cancelled

ItsMehRubyI understand that is what they said in the email. The issues with the process from the email are:
  1. People who already secured the Cyberdeck kit are not guaranteed to get one.
  2. If you paid with PayPal and have to entirely resubmit your order, you're not even guaranteed to get all the other kits you ordered.
Drop is an eCommerce site. I am sure there is a better way for them to handle this situation.

fer.realHopefully they do! It would suck to not have your order secure, I know how fast these keycaps sell out, the least they can do is secure the orders of people that purchased the sets, and simply adjust the price on existing orders.

I was totally fine paying the increased amount and assumed that would be the case since it changed automatically in my transactions page, but now they're out of stock again so if my order is cancelled automatically I'm screwed. Edit- yup, tried to cancel and quickly reorder to free up my own set. No luck. Thanks Massdrop.

LevelSteamIt's not an ideal solution, my apologies. We are working with the limitations of our backend system. The engineering team are making updates but that will only address there issues in the future and not what is happening now. I will work with our support team to see if there is anything else we can do for those of you that were affected by this.

YanboWuThinking about it realistically, I'm fine with my order being canceled since I probably shouldn't be buying more keycaps right now anyway. However, this isn't the first time Massdrop (drop, whatever) has bungled a technical issue and resorted to nuking everyone's orders and starting over. And as an online retailer that's pretty much the absolute worst way to go about order issues. Going forward I won't be ordering anything that runs here, since I've had nothing but positive experiences with smaller vendors such as Candy Keys, The Key Company, Canon Keys, Dixie Mech, Kono, Novelkeys, Keyclack, etc. when it comes to editing orders and also fulfillment, but whenever something goes wrong here it seems to go wrong in a big way (like this). Is it the end of the world? Of course not. But it's just not worth the hassle to me anymore. See y'all around and good luck with everything.

ItsMehRuby@ItsMehRuby If you were able to repurchase everything you bought. Yes your order is secure and fine. @LevelSteam sorry to hear - we are actually sending another email to let everyone know no nuking is necessary to get this all fixed. Hopefully you give us another chance in the future when the keycap itch strikes again. For those that tried to cancel your cyberdeck transaction to regrab and was unsuccessful. Please write into support and we'll try to get you taken care of.
