If you’re a fan of the profile, you know what to expect. Beautiful colors. Silky smooth feel. I’ve decided to put these caps on my high profile ALT. Aside from not having the proper size Delete key, (used the “any key”) it fits great. Lots of alternative sizes of most modifiers, so chances are, these caps will work for almost any keyboard. I may even use some of the leftovers on my GK21S numpad ❤️ Or maybe I’ll wait for my new Kailh Pocket RGB numpad/calculator to arrive ❤️❤️❤️ ***edit*** Added pics of the GK21S.
These are the first custom keycaps I've ever owned. I only just recently got into mechanical keyboards, and I just absolutely love how these keys look and feel. I'm using them on an Anne Pro 2 and combining these keycaps with a walnut wood case that I currently have gives it a really nice vintage look and feel that I'm in love with. I currently have Gateron Blues for my switches and I put rubber rings on these keycaps too, it helps give it a fuller and richer sound while typing compared to the default keycaps that my keyboard came with. The keycaps are a higher profile than I'm used to, so I am using a wrist rest with it so I don't get too fatigued, but it's not really anything that's too bothersome.
I love the colors for this kit. My only recommendation is that there should really be the option for 2 2u spacebars, seeing as the Preonic supports it, it would make sense to provide compatibility for one of the two ortho keyboards that is sold here.
Great keycaps, information missing from item description
I love these caps. I've had them on my keyboard for about a week. I work in a terminal all day and they feel great to type on. Homing is easy with the "f" and "j" keys having slightly exaggerated dishes. The sound is pleasing when mated to my Cherry Blues. The look is classic. After about 20 min of typing I forgot I was typing on new caps (which is a good thing) and I was back to cranking out work.
BUT
None of the spacebars fit my keyboard. I have a fairly standard 6.25u sized spacebar with 40mm stem spacing center-to-center. Most, but not all, 6.25u use the more common 50mm stem spacing however MOST high quality spacebars support both 50mm and 40mm spacing. In the image below see the Signature Plastics SA Profile spacebar. It has 6 posts and supports a wide variety of 6.25u spacebar designs. See that the MT3 ONLY supports 50mm spacing : ( . In the image you can also see the MT3 compared to my stock spacebar.
My complaint, and the reason for removing two stars, is that this is so easy to avoid. Drop, please list the measurement in the description or just add a picture of the underside of the spacebar. Hopefully this review saves some other poor soul.
Love the colourway, the printing is pretty good though it could definitely be a little better. Only one issue that really annoyed me was the ESC key had a hole in it! I've contacted support and will revise my rating if they send me out a replacement. Being in the UK i will no doubt have to wait at least a week or so, Drop really need to up their QC for the price these sets cost, especially when shipping abroad!
Set looks good on my GMMK Pro. Coming from mainly using cherry profile, i will not be going back now, MT3 rocks!
I just got this set yesterday so I can't speak to how durable they'll be, but my first impressions are that the colors are fantastic and they feel high quality. The double-shot abs is pretty thick. The sides are smooth and the tops are textured. The legends appear uniform and centered on my set. And unlike some other users, my set fit my Gateron Yellow switches just fine and were not too tight. While I was wary about how I'd find the depth of the scoops in each key (only ever tried DSA and OEM profiles), I LOVE the way these cap feel to type on. It's like, comfy. And I don't feel like I'm taking any hit in typing accuracy, in fact I think it's way better than me typing on DSA. I got these while on sale, and so far the experience with them has been fantastic!
I have 5 MT3 sets and I love how they feel, but Jukebox is the one I use least because I find it harder to get it to match with most boards. They look amazing on my red keyboard, but not much else. So if they are on sale, grab them, but I don't see it worth paying the full $120 for. Still, if you have a board that goes well with it by all means go for it, MT3 is really nice to type on.
