We've received a shipment of PC38X from Sennheiser as expected but unfortunately they sent us far fewer units than what we had ordered. We're in the process of getting this problem sorted out and getting a new delivery scheduled with them. For now we've updated our estimated ship date to 10/23.
The 280 units of PC38X that we have on hand will be shipped out in the next few days. Given the extreme popularity of the product, the 280 units realistically covers residual orders from the 10/6 launch date and a handful of orders placed on 10/7. All other orders will be shipped once the remainder of our order arrives. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience.
As of writing, the delayed shipment will be large enough to cover all pending pre-orders, plus new orders.
Received confirmation from Sennheiser that 1151 units are scheduled to arrive at our warehouse tomorrow. Depending on when they arrive at the warehouse, they'll need to be unpacked, counted, and then prepared to ship out to all users. As much as we'd love to ship them on Friday 10/23, realistically they'll probably ship out first thing next week.
These 1151 units will cover all orders placed up until October 18th. Orders placed on October 19th or later, will need to wait for the following shipment.
Sennheiser has assured us that 2000 MORE units will be dispatched from their warehouse by 10/22. That means those units should arrive at our warehouse and be ready to ship by mid/end of next week. That batch of 2000 will cover orders placed on/after 10/19 (as of writing, about 200 of those 2000 have been presold, so 1800 left to go).
As always, thanks for your patience as we work through this with Sennheiser and get these units into your hands as quickly as we can.
Units started shipping today, and we expect to get many/most of them done over the weekend. We also have confirmation of the other shipment, so we're expecting all outstanding shipments being out by the end of Oct 30th (ish).
Over 800 headphones shipped out today, with the remaining 300ish that will probably ship on Sunday. Sennheiser has confirmed we should expect the 2000 more headphones by Wednesday at the latest. New orders will all be out of that shipment, and those units should ship by Friday 10/30 (ish!).
98% of the orders from before Oct 18th have shipped, the remaining should be done shortly. We're waiting on the next shipment from Sennheiser expected in the next couple days. Last week, 900 more GSA headphone hangers arrived at our warehouse due to a shipping error at Sennheiser, so we've added those to the free-giveaways (now 1900 total, instead of 1000). Update from Sennheiser is 2000 units are expected to arrive on Wednesday. We should start shipping these out on Friday and throughout the weekend.

Wanted to give you all a heads up that we’re now expecting the next batch of PC38Xs to arrive at our warehouse on Friday, which means we'll begin shipping by early/mid next week.

Shipment arrived at our warehouse today. It'll be counted/shelved on Saturday or Monday, and then start shipping Monday or Tuesday. All orders should be out by Wednesday or Thursday.

Because they have another bunch just lying around with the Drop specs ready for shipment? Sounds like weeks if not months. Is Drop always this much of a CF?

Yes, they have thousands already made. They don't make 1k-2k each month and ship them to us, they make 10k per quarter and then we draw from that stockpile, etc.
They sent us the wrong quantity (this is the second time in two weeks, the first time they sent us 100 hangers instead of 1000). I'm not going to point fingers, but we also feel the pain of this CF. Ultimately it's our responsibility to serve our customers, so feel free to vent.

Hi Kevin, There is lots of comments about the yellow colour of these, and it is also the one thing putting me off. Are there any plans to release them in an ALL BLACK colourway? I don't want to miss out, but also don't want to have to sell the yellows ones in a few months when black is released. You'll have a customer either way, but a much happier one if you can be open with the plans.
There are no plans at the present to introduce a new colorway. We've put in the ask to Senn (since there has been enough interest), but it would still need to go through R&D, materials acquisition, approval, production, QC, and finally shipped to us to be sold. In short, we're not going to "surprise" people in the next 8 weeks with a brand new color.
IF we approved/added new color ways, it would be sometime in 2021 at the earliest.

Earliest would be Thursday/Friday this week. Can't quote a latest, because it's not in our control if Sennheiser doesn't ship the product that we've ordered. The headsets are made and sitting at their warehouse in Wisconsin, they just seem to be having trouble dispatching shipments in the last couple of weeks (pretty frustrating for us).

Where do you guys ship out from? I'm in Chicagoland and I'm wondering if mine will go from Wisc. to California and back to the Midwest.
We ship out of New Jersey. And yes, it'll go from Wisconsin to New Jersey, then get unpacked/counted/shelved, and then packed and shipped to you.

If I order pre-order now, would mine ship around the 10/30? My current headset is flaking out on me and I regret not getting this when it was available but with the new PS5 coming out soon (I managed to grab a preorder somehow) and I’ve been playing games every night recently so I might have no choice but to go with Amazon’s next day headsets out of desperation i.e. the beyerdynamic mmx 300 which is closed back and £209.99 or the senny game one which is competitive vs 37x because of uk shipping etc currently listed as £148.99.
Basically Kevin, gimme some hope pal so I don’t just give in and I can justify waiting for these. What’s the earliest I could get it? I live in Glasgow, Scotland

Typical transit time to the UK is about 2 weeks. Royal mail is pretty consistent about collecting their VAT so usually you get a notice saying to call and pay, or go to the local post office to pay the VAT owing and pick up the parcel. (This process changes depending on where you are in the UK though).
Just want to make sure I'm clear on the stated details. If I ordered on the 16th my set should have been shipped today and here tomorrow? (I paid for next day shipping)
I don't see any orders on your transaction tab. Maybe you have a second account?
But overall, all orders that were placed on/before Oct 18th will have shipped by Monday. And if you paid for next day shipping, (whether it ships out Saturday, Sunday, or Monday) it will arrive Tuesday. (Weekends don't count as business days for next day shipping).
Just verifying that I understand how this is working. (Please note, I understand that you guys have zero control over the shortage of units received so waiting isn't a big deal.) But I ordered on Oct 11, 2020, so basing that fact on the 10/21 update, I should receive a shipping confirmation sometime early this next week, possibly tomorrow (Sunday Oct. 25th.) Also, I contacted support 3 times in a panic thinking I'd changed my mind on purchasing the PC38X's, but today sent a 4th (and final,) email saying I'd like to keep my order active. I don't think Drop offers cancellations in the first place if I'm not mistaken. But I just wanted to put it out there that I want to keep the order active. (thanks for all you guys do and I appreciate y'all!)
You can cancel your order, up to a certain cut-off date before shipping (usually 24 hours ish). I do see your order placed on 10/11, so yeah, your should go out on Sunday or Monday. Sundays are always iffy, it's a voluntary work day so the number of warehouse staff that come in changes.
Uh, something doesn't add up. I purchased the PC38Xs on the 18th of October... and my shipped my headphones on the 24th. My tracking shows it's already been picked up and should be delivered by the 27th... I think you royally borked yourself by changing your mind so much. Good luck, hope you get em eventually.
Well Kevin said he sees my order and it should ship out soon. I own a pair if PC37X's and I'm not in a major hurry to receive my 38s. Thanks for the input though. Never knew this side of the site (discussions) existed and it helps getting real time feedback. Have a good day man! :)
Looks like your order shipped today. Tracking won't update until the Fedex truck picks it up, sometime on Monday.

I placed my order on 10/22 and when I used the code LEVELUP it didnt work because the 1000 hangers had been claimed. How do I go about adding the hanger to my cart right now and using the code LEVELUP to claim the free hanger?
Not sure, it's pretty weird/wonky because we ran out, but then randomly got more (an error at Sennheiser). You can try contacting customer support but we don't really have a set process for a situation like this.

Hey @Kevin! First of all, thank you for taking the time to stay so communicative with the community! Second, I placed my order on 10/14 and I see "reserved for shipment" as the status. Does this mean it has shipped or that I will have to wait until the next batch? Thank you again!
It only says that the information has been received by FedEx but there's nothing more to track. So I assume it's just sitting at your facility waiting to be picked up since Friday?
Generally that means fedex has picked it up but hasn't scanned it in yet.
When i placed my order i didn't add the headphone hanger and used the code because i didn't know about this whole "discussion" tab. Will i recieve it still? It's no problem if i don't but i'm just asking.
You won't, you'll need to cancel and reorder if you want it.

Same thing with me. I thought all orders up until the 18th would be shipped out with this shipment, but I'm still waiting for it to ship.
98% of orders have shipped, both you and @b_mctaggart are (unluckily) in the 2%. Random reasons why an order gets held up, sometimes it's because the address gets rejected by Fedex/USPS because of a typo or something, other times our fraud detection system raises a flag that needs to be manually cleared, etc. Sorry for the delay, I'm sure both of yours will ship imminently.

I’m excited about getting this headset. I wish that the free hangar was mentioned in the description when I ordered. Is there any way to add it to an order?
On the package tracker on 31 octomber it says it has been processed in Germany but since then nothing happend? Did something happen to the package? Or it's just some delay cause of Corona? It should have arrived by now considering the time the package reached Germany
You can try contacting customer service.. I'm pretty sure the hanger was in the description at all times though.
I'm asking because it wouldn't be the first time DHL loses the package i was supposed to recieve. Thank you for the info.
Thanks for the quick answer. Maybe I missed it. Not a dealbreaker, still looking forward to the headset. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to ship to Canada.
My headset arrived about 2 or 3 days ago, so far pretty impressed, however my audio seems to be being sent through mic, at first I thought it could be being picked up due to the design, but it happens in the mic lock position where it only picks up audio being played, any idea of what may be causing it or any other possibilities?
Not sure, best suggest is test it with a different device, (i.e. use it with your phone) and see if it still has the problem. If so it's defective. If not, you've got some weird settings on your PC that's causing it to monitor/loop your audio input/outputs.
Will try plugging it into my secondary PC in the morning and record while watching something, if it is my PC settings then I have no clue at all what may be causing it
Just tried it in my secondary with something that should trigger it and it's working fine, it's software and such is vastly different, but I feel it probably is my PC now, what exactly it is I have no clue
