Prior to the sense I was using the drop alt. The knob is the biggest upgrade, I use it all the time to change tracks and adjust volume. The case feels high quality, and leaves a good amount of space if you want to put foam.
I got this to replace my previous daily driver (Tofu60) and under initial inspection everything feels great. I haven't experienced any of the longevity issues others are reporting but I definitely agree it needs some modification to sound it's best. A little pricey on the barebones variant.
I spent a bunch of money on this keyboard and various parts for it.
15 weeks later, a component came unsoldered from the PCB, I didn't knock it, it just fell. I attempted to reattach it, but the keyboard no longer works.
I'm talking with support now... But even with a refund for the keyboard, I'll be out the money I spent on parts that I never got to use.
15 weeks is not a valid life span for a keyboard... Especially one that easily costs hundreds of dollars fully built.
This experience really gives me pause in purchasing another keyboard from drop, which is a shame, because I was looking into the CSTM80.
It was great for the price, I used a couple discounts on it and got it for super cheap. Don't know how I'd feel about it full price, but it looks quite nice
