The SENSE75 is all about tailored typing—which is why we’re releasing a range of components so you can customize your experience exactly to your liking. Available here is the new Drop SENSE75 FR4 Plate, which provides a different feel and sound than the stock aluminum plate included on the SENSE75. FR4 is a high-density fiber material: the same one used on many of today’s keyboard PCBs. “FR” stands for flame retardant, while “4” indicates the four main characteristics of the material: woven glass-reinforced epoxy resin. While aluminum is heavier and rigid, FR4 is lighter and more flexible—though still harder and more stiff than polycarbonate—for a balanced typing feel overall. FR4 is also quieter than aluminum or other metals, so you can expect less switch ping with a deeper sound during typing. Despite these nuanced differences, the Drop SENSE75 FR4 Plate comes with gaskets pre-installed to maintain the SENSE75’s central gasket sound and feel.
Note: This plate does not screw to the PCB. It is held in place by the case and switches.
