BlazinwolfWell think about this. The base price of the CTRL is $250. It's not out of the question that they figure, "hey if they will pay $250 for that they will definitely pay $350 for all these extra features!" lol Of course the market has changed a lot since the CTRL debuted but I can see them going that route.
Ghost_of_MIt’s more like... portico75 $225, mammoth75 $430 and cyberboard $700 or $800 shipped (barebones)... yeah we can charge $350 and have a product that looks like it competes with mammoth75 or frogtkl and be cheaper doing doing it. I appreciate the effort, but this ain’t it chief. F
WikkiI think people misunderstand the offerings that Drop provides in the way of keyboards. There is a market for this. Is it enthusiast level? No. Is it for someone who wants a more premium feeling than plastic while not having to shell ~$500-$600 for barebones? Yes. Consider the target audience honestly. And Idk if I am missing something but, everything I see says $350 so I don’t understand why people are saying it’s $400, unless they forgot that taxes exist.

ShossleThe white case is $50 more, that's where the $400 is coming from.
Shosslee-white is occasionally priced the same as anodised finishes but yes you're right most of the time they cost more... but usually only $10-20 more. Maybe $30 tops. $50 is a lot given Drop's potential MOQ.
Regarding the target audience, Q1 does the same thing for $170 less. Barebones to barebones – you're paying $90 for something that has fancy lights and a decorative plate that sounds like a tin can.
If you count the full value of the caps and switches the 'barebones' sense75 is roughly $15 more than the barebones Q1, and you're locked to $175 switches and caps you may not like, compared to a $20 write-off for the Q1. Do DCX and pandas give you $155 more premium feel? for someone who's not an enthusiast, probably not.
asnsandwichWell interestingly enough, it seems like they finished all the promos available for the initial 500 run. So that means that despite the large number of us feeling like this board is overpriced, there are potentially 1000 customers out there willing to buy it sight unseen. I am not sure if they allotted 500 for each color, or 500 total for the 2 initial SKUs.
in my opinion, most premium boards at this predicted price range ($200-$350) will not have bluetooth or wireless capabilities.
i believe it is because the battery pack can comprise the internal metal weights and other internal designs.
