A legendary knifemaker. A legendary design. Meet the Drop + Terzuola ATCF Tanto: based on Bob Terzuola’s signature folding knife, a design that shaped the industry as we know it today.
Depends on what you're looking for, honestly. If you want a blade with a lot of belly, if you're going to be cutting food for instance, get the lynx. If you're going to be doing more piercing tasks or precise cuts like you would with a utility knife, then get this one.
I personally like the WRL-34 used in the lynx more than the SET here, but that's purely personal preference, and they're very similar practically speaking.
I ended up getting the CTF. I'm not disappointed in my choice, especially since I got a discount, plus I already have a knife that fulfills the same role as the lynx. However, all things being equal and leaving side everything else I own, is go with the lynx
ATCF... Bigger knife, better ergos (grip), and slightly better action. I'm torn on the better, more all purpose utilitarian blade. The blade depends what you are planning to do with it.
Tanto refers to the blade shape. This is more of an American Tanto style blade vs. the Japanese style which has a less pronounced transition at the tip.
That’s a damn good question and I’ve wondered the same. It appears to be 30° each side on my knife but that’s just eyeballing it. It’s not dull but it’s not sharp, sharp either. It was my one con of the knife (look at my earlier review). I’d say it’s between 25-30° each side.
A leather stop with compound and for more serious sharpening, a decent system like the lansky or other higher end systems. If you're skilled free hand sharpen the blade water stones.
