I originally was really frustrated this set did not yet have an available decorative keyboard plate like the others in this series. Though I'm glad to hear they will be releasing by EOY.
The quality and finish on these are great. Unboxing was nice with some LOTR package box suitable for storage of the key trays. Color is great and the letter keys feel like reading a cozy book.
If I didn’t also have the Edoras set, I don’t think I’d notice a print difference. The Aldburg set had a lighter print on the keycaps than the Edoras set. I needed both small spacebars (one from each set) for my keyboard at home and it’s a huge difference in printing shade. It’s like the Aldburg set was maybe the first print set because it was so light. It’s a great set and wouldn’t have been noticeable if I didn’t have both and needed to use a keycap from each.
Other than that, the build quality is nice. The feel of the plastic is matte in a way and is pleasant to type on. Though not enough novelties for more non-trad keyboard configurations. Especially since it’s not a uniform shape for each row. Still pretty good though.
I hadn't realised that the full keyset was actually missing the ISO alternatives (even though the full size enter key was provided).
It is missing the 2/", 3/£, @/', #/~
So I'm glad I got the durins forge as well so I have some highlights to cover over this. But beautiful key sets.
These are great keys. They feel nice and sound really good. I have them on a CSTM65 with some really smooth linear switches and the sound is really nice. Plus the feel of these caps on my fingers is really great. Love them.
Used on a keychron q5 pro build, looks and sounds fantastic. Legends and overall keycap quality are exceptional and themed accents are a huge plus. Very happy.
