does it has preamp function?
On the back photo seems there's only a single end pass through. So don't think so
So another question will be why they has single end pass through?
Since they don't have dac inside, I don't know what is the point?
one possibility..... DAC with 1 output -> THX AAA -> Powered monitors??
LOL, yeah, I also think it maybe like that.
Why not just DAC---> Powered Monitors?
Powered monitors don't have volume control a lot of the time. Just look at the well known lsr305
The input impedance of an well-designed active monitor will be high enough that the DAC will be perfectly capable of managing the volume.
The lsr305 is not really in the same category as a product like this... they will completely bottleneck the performance of this amplifier.
If it's a convenience thing, 350 seems a bit much for something that could just be done with a Niles autoformer.
My point is if you have to run both headphone plus monitors with volume control
Actually the LSR305 does have volume control. It's just at the back.
That's for each individual speaker. Unless you are only running one speaker for mono, no one would ever use that as a volume control. External volume control through a preamp is necesarry.
