Hi Everyone,
No new updates. Here is the latest delivery information:
For all orders with an original ship date in July, about half of the units have shipped. We are still on track to fulfill all original ship July orders by the end of October.
For all orders with an original ship date in August, fulfillment will start in November and should be completed by the end of November.
For all orders with an original ship date in September, fulfillment will be completed by the end of November.
For all orders with an original ship date in November, fulfillment will be completed by the end of November.
WillThanks for the update! Is there any new information about a companion app for firmware updates & feature control (enabling/disabling eq, etc...)?
Some things that might be cool to see:
- Ability to see active codec & ability to force a codec.
- Customize startup/shutdown noise.
- hear through mode; opposite of noise reduction (when dsp is enabled).
We appreciate the regular updates!
SpencerMein+1 for the hear through mode. I have this on my Sennheiser MTW and use it all the time. Would be handy on a closed back headphone with what seems likely to have good isolation. Although I can see how this might take some time to implement.
WillHave the quality issues been addressed? I’m hoping to get a good product and not have to return it. I’ve been waiting a long time to get my order but I’d I think getting a defective product would be worse than another delay.
Thank you for the updates and best of luck on Panda production! I am super excited to listen to them!
FYI for others waiting: I order mine on April 26 on drop. I think I’m at the end of the July batch. Not shipped yet but hopefully I’ll get something by the end of the month.
WillI'm part of the July ship date crew and I'm holding out hope that my order ACTUALLY ships before the end of October but something tells me that I might never get my hands on my unit -- or that I will and it'll be defective right off the bat.
We don't even know what the longevity of these units are going to be like if the initial quality control measures weren't effective enough in stopping what seems to be a large number of units shipping with build quality that doesn't meet expectation.
I would LOVE to eat my words.
NatSparkyI think the most important info is what percentage of orders are faulty as it's natural for a certain percentage to have faults, same as when products are manufactured like iPhones they will have yield rates of compenents and the screens etc so maybe 2%-15% or more of what is originally made is not good enough of a standard to be used full stop.
From a fellow July crew member ✌🏻🤞🏻
PizzaForAllYes, I'm also part of the Drop orders (ordered 4/16) with a July 31 ship date. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting them at the end of the month!
Joe405hmmm, don't know. But the 67 reviews currently listed on Drop must have come from Drop batches since the IGG backers can't post yet to this site. Perhaps someone who knows more can answer this question?
MabuseThere was a small batch opened up before IGG for those who had clicked the "I'm interested" button. Other than those, IMO it would be grossly unfair for those who bought on Drop to get theirs before IGG backers
Joe405There have been different tiers on IGG tho. You could pay the full price for June delivery, of which all orders seem to have been fulfilled by now. But you could also pay a discounted price to get August delivery. And people who ordered soon enough after the Drop relaunch got a July ship date. So it's very likely that people who wanted to save a few bucks on IGG get their orders after people who ordered after them, but with an earlier estimated ship date.
NuclearCoreI know, I'm one of those who opted for the cheapest tier (back when it was a 2 month difference). My point stands; all tiers of IGG backers should receive theirs first, as they were helping to fund a new project versus people joining a successfully-funded project.
Mind you after accounting for Drop points we save practically nothing
Joe405That would make no sense as you would have an estimated ship date after the one I have for example and they will deliver as Will stated in his updates. Throwing around actual shipments depending on the platform you bought them on, regardless of when your ship date is would be pretty stupid and piss off even more people than they did with all the delays. And I doubt that Drop cared too much about the IGG campaign. It would make more sense if they used IGG as a metric of how many people want the headphones so they know how many to produce. They were bound to go back to their own website after that. That whole thing with IGG was poorly handled either way. Also yes, you still saved money compared to people who bought on Drop directly. I got $15 credits. You paid a whole $50 less than I did. Even people who paid for June shipping on IGG paid less than anyone who bought on Drop did, and they even got their $30 credit due to the delay. And even on top of that, I think I read about Will mentioning that IGG purchasers get Drop points as well.
NuclearCoreWell, I agree the whole concept of tiering shipping dates by price instead of FCFS should certainly never be replicated in any pre-order ever again.
Joe405The problem here was both the different shipping tiers on IGG, as well as the change of platforms that happened twice. FCFS is actually carried out in this case, but only in the order of orders received in a specific 'estimated shipping date tiers', regardless of the place you ordered on. But hey, at least you'll be receiving your unit before anyone else who ordered on Drop and got an August shipping date. Very poor consolation, but this whole thing has just been handled the worst possible way. Let's just hope that we'll all be happy with our purchases when we actually have our units in hands.
JNROPSDon't get your hopes up. If they only have half of July shipped by now how are they going to get another half in less than a week? They've been pedaling this bullshit stringing us along just going that we won't rise up and file a class action lawsuit. I get the covid stuff and maybe some other small manufacturing delays and I'm fine with that. What they're doing here is egregious and it's really frustrating to be given this run round. And making us seek out the answers through these forms instead of emailing us individually and giving us updates like they should have done from the beginning . This is just a sign of poor customer service and a lack of ability to deliver on a product development. if I did half of this to my customers I would be out of business in less than a week.
Emann56I wonder how they plan to complete 3 months of orders next month when it’s taken them 3 months already just to almost complete July they’re not even done with July 🤦🏻♂️😪
WillHey @Will ,
How do we interpret our current order status so we can map ourselves to a ship date. Is the ship date in our drop.com transactions accurate or do we need to translate that estimated ship date against the status update post?
Also, what is the status of the boom mic relative to all of this?
MonkRXThat's right so if you are an August ship date on your order page then that translate to November etc. I'm an original July delivery date so hopefully mine will be sent out by the end of this month.
Pandalover1Doubt it I’ve seen a decent amount of July orders asking for their pandas and they r no where to be found and July is “suppose to be completed” by end of October and there’s 3 business days left
MonkRXIma be real with you the way it’s looking I think we should just forget we ordered these headphones and come back in January or u can cancel your order
JNROPSThere's still the end of the week and they said they have shipped half out already, we should wait till October is officially done then if nothing after that then there will be alot of questions to be answered , currently the latest update from will says nothing new to update i.e. no problems so I don't see any reason to think otherwise , let's see what happens.
Joe405I also think 67 Drop reviews, considering that the vast majority of buyers don't write reviews, are more than a small batch of those who "clicked the I'm interested button." One person has since said they ordered from Drop directly in March and there's a possibility some were even earlier.
Pandalover1Yup. Shows up as that for me. Do you think that means anything. It's already October 28th, they would have to ship pretty soon to get them by the end of October I would imagine. I'm not exactly inspired by confidence here though.
NuclearCoreI will confidently say that you will get your email today or tomorrow to say that your pandas have shipped, just to note as well that my boom mic has shipped too in the same shipmemt
Zeeke069Well I ordered back in Jan, and my order number was in double digits so I was among the first. I self-pawned myself though selecting the Aug tier. I mean, who would have known that Drop would open orders 2 mths later with a Jul ship date???
Joe405The IGG rewards had discounts based on shipping batch. The August group was the cheapest and had a $50 discount for being last. The July delivery batch on Drop payed full price.
Joe405Yeah that was your unfortunate mistake and like you said who would have guessed. My pair shipped today so thats what got you was the saving 50.00 and August delivery. But its all good, as long as we are getting them thats what counts. You should get yours in the next few week I would guess.
WillPhew, finally got my tracking number too! (International order, July delivery crowd).
Does anybody know if this headset would pair well with a Topping DX7 Pro (over bluetooth)?
Joe405It depends on the backer level (or whatever it's called). If you ordered on IGG, the expexcted date of shippment should tell you more, in which group you are. If you ordered the August one, your order will be shipped after EVERY July shippment, no matter IGG or DROP.
- For all orders with an original ship date in November, fulfillment will be completed by the end of November.
Best,
