Hey Everyone, We received an update from our contract manufacturer late last week that they're on track to have the keycaps done on March 12th. Most of the dates we're hearing from Chinese factories are preliminary estimates but this particular situation appears to be a firm date. We'll look to provide another update in the next week or two when we have absolute clarity on this. Mar 5th Update: March 12th "Project Finish Date" was provided by the contract manufacturer today. So it looks like we're almost there! Next update will hopefully be in a week and I'll be able to say "they're on the way to our warehouse!"

Mar 12th Update: Keycaps are complete and they're currently getting booked onto a plane out of China to New Jersey. Getting a plane out of China to the USA isn't exactly trivial these days, so we're waiting for confirmation of our cargo spot.

Mar 13th Update: Keycaps are booked onto a plane and currently have a estimated arrival + clearance date of March 20th. Based on that, we would be shipping sometime around March 23-25th

Mar 21st Update: Keycaps arrived late on Friday afternoon at our warehouse. They'll be unpacking / receiving /counting them on Monday at the warehouse, and should be shipping over the following days. Timelines and staffing levels are a bit tricky these days for obvious reasons.

Mar 24th Update: Our warehouse is in NJ which is a hotspot for Covid. They're doing their best but they've cut the shifts from 2 down to 1, and have lower staffing levels to maintain social distancing. Tracking numbers should start to go out in the next few days but we're being warned that every day is a new challenge with getting orders packed and out the door. Please be patient, I'll keep posting updates.

Mar 25th Update: 178 orders were packed and shipped today (out of 3000+). So the good news is that things are moving, albeit slowly. Tomorrow we hope to see significant progress. Keep in mind there are also significant carrier delays by all of the different post/courier systems right now so things will absolutely take longer to get to you after you have your tracking number.

Mar 27th Update: Orders still going out the door, we expect many of them to ship out on Monday.

Mar 29th update: Extras will go on sale March 30th, shipping in mid-April (After all of these are done). See my explanation/update here.

Mar 31st update: About 45% done shipping, sadly still moving slower than we want it to.

Apr 1st update: at 60% now...

Apr 2nd update: 75% -- Also some good news for people, there are more extras on the way to our warehouse towards the end of April!

Apr 3rd update: 92%

Apr 4th update: 98%

Apr 6th update: Still 98%, it looks like we're short some of the Forties kits. We're trying to reconcile the issue to determine whether the manufacturer short-shipped us, or the warehouse mis-received the order, or they went missing during transit. Sorry for the delay, we're going to ship the orders (without the missing Forties) kits shortly if we don't solve this quickly- and then send the Forties kits out as a separate order once that has been solved.

Apr 17th update: The MT3 Serika extras that were sold at the start of April will be shipping on April 21st, versus the previously communicated April 17th date. Apologies for the delay, everything is backlogged at the warehouse right now due to COVID related delays.

April 24th Update: All of the extras are shipped. Forties kits are scheduled to arrive on May 1st (or early the following week). We should have the missing Forties kits and missing Katakana kits shipped out by May 8th at the latest.

April 27th Update: Forties are now scheduled to arrive tomorrow, April 28th. Assuming things go smoothly they'll ship out on the 29th or 30th.

May 7th: Unstickying thread as the fulfillment uncertainty, timelines and issues have now all been resolved.

When can I expect to see it? One month is closing in since I received any update on the tracking number for the forties kit (last seen in the US). Which should've been sent together with the whole order tbh.

Hey everyone
Production is well underway for Drop + Zambumon MT3 Serika. The good news is that the factory has completed the Alphas, Katakana, Novelties, Super Homing, Arrows, Odd Bars, Split Bars and Standard Bars kits. The remaining 10 kits (Mods, Geometries, International, Typist, Ergo, Numpad, Extra Mods, UK ISO, F-Row and Mac) are still working their way through the line. The factory is currently on break for the Lunar New Year, and will be working on these as soon as they're back. Note that we are currently behind schedule by a few weeks, and the recent spread of coronavirus may affect the production schedule further (the New Year holiday has officially been extended to help slow the spread of the disease).
We'll start posting updates to the discussion board more frequently over the next few weeks as we get more information about the status changes for the keycaps.
Thanks for your patience, we can't wait to get these out the door to everyone.

I agree with you, but I don't look at it so casually. I knew the day I ordered it's gonna delay because I know how these drops works. But in a business sense and community sense, it's basic courtesy and common sense to keep the community updated. Not wait till the very last moment for the sake of "giving an answer". You know, like a student asking the professor for an extension early with valid reason, vs at the very last moment to cook up some excuses, which student would look better and more responsible? (Sry, maybe a bad analogy). ----------------------------------------------------------- We're ordering something custom. We would naturally want to hear follow ups what is going on... If it's going on smoothly, look at samples etc... If you ordered something custom from a manufacturer, won't you occasionally check for updates to make sure everything is smooth going? This is not a immediate online purchase where it gets ship to your door in 2 to 3 weeks. Do not simply assume this as the norm for group buy, then simply expect everyone's expectation standards to drop to the norm. It's like taking things for granted. At least the manager of this drop or Zambumon should do some updates at times. I don't see updates at Zambumon's website, instagram, or reddit at all. I can't help it but occasionally at the back of my mind would pops up "is this drop happening or not?" when I don't see any updates for a while.

KevinEven if it's just a weekly "we haven't heard any update from the factory yet" - I think I speak for everybody here when I say that this would be an appreciated way to communicate.

What new QA processes is Drop introducing to prevent the printing problems we experienced with Godspeed MT3 @Zambumon
It's the weekend, so Yanbo is not at work at the moment, although I think Yanbo's response was good.
We're working with our production team to reduce the number of errors at the time of printing as much as we can and will of course perform quality checks after the caps are produced. That said, dye sublimation's versatile manufacturing process also means it's not as precise as double-shot keycaps. In dye sublimation, transfer sheets are placed on top of the keys and then the dye is baked into the plastic surface. Repeat this the thousands of times it takes and that's where the 2% is coming from. Unfortunately the last few percentages are the most difficult and by extension, the most expensive to fix. We're always trying to get as close to 100% accurate as possible, but the costs to do so in terms of money and time are exponentially higher the closer you get. We're of course looking into any means possible to get as close to that 100% as we can, but we also are doing what we can to balance that with the cost and time to all of you. Additionally, I'm looking into working out a better replacement system for people who only have issues with singular keycaps in a whole kit.

Very sad to see that the Forties kit doesn't have an R5 bottom row. Having tried using R4 bottom row with MT3 Godspeed, it's extremely unadvisable due to the sharp bottom edge. It sucks that there is a bigger emphasis on making it easier for them to print than to use. Basically if you're an ortho user, just use the home row or flip R4 and live with the odd feeling. Edit: The reason I give this feedback is that the majority of ortho boards are flat. I use MT3 and multiple vintage profiles similar to MT3 on flat and angled boards. Most of the people using ortho, especially from the boards that Massdrop sells.

rudbearI'm planning to flip the space bar around and then use either R1 or flipped R4 keys from the geometries kit for raise & lower. That leaves only one other key I use with a thumb. I'll either substitute something for it or live with it. I do agree that R5 would have been better than R4, though.

gtg339gI've been using flipped R4 caps from Godspeed but it definitely isn't ideal.

Given that this due to ship in less than a month, is there any updates? Is it still on track for Feb 10th?

vido.ardesWouldn't be surprised if they announced a 2 month delay in the week that they're suppose to ship out. That wouldn't be too far off from what MD usually does.

Hey Everyone!  We’d like to give a very warm welcome (back) to @Zambumon, who is back for Round 2 of the famous MT3 Serika keyset design. Originally run in 2019, there has been significant interest in the set since. We’re very excited to offer this re-designed set for anyone who may have missed out on the original run.  One key difference you may notice right off the bat is in the kitting. While the original run featured smaller kits requiring mixing and matching, Zambumon has designed Round 2 to incorporate larger base kits to offer a more one-stop-shop solution for the majority of users. However, if you need any of the more customized kits for your layout, chances are they are available as well.  Thank you to everyone who asked for this set to be re-run, and thank you especially to Zambumon for joining us to redesign the set!  Please share any questions or comments you may have here and I will do my best to answer them.  :)
