What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

Also note the limited quantity, that in itself is suspicious as the whole point of a group buy is to bring the price down in exchange for a large order. So what's up with this limited quantity deal ? why wouldn't the company want to sell more ?
And since this is a Massdrop Exclusive product, where is the retail price even comming from ? Ebay ? Hell you could input any old number in there and make it look like a real bargain.
As far as I'm concerned this has nothing to do with a group buy, it's just a limited edition product with a false price drop, which in and of itself isn't a problem but stop calling it a group buy if the number of buyers is limited, and stop putting a retail price on a product that isn't sold anywhere else.
It's a keyboard with Cherry MX switches (as opposed to gateron or other cheaper types), metal case, detachable cable, and fun backlighting options. In fact I think the price is similar to the IKBC MF108 that dropped recently.
I'll say it again, I don't mind having limited edition custom made products here, but i'm not sure they should really count as group buys, and they definitely shouldn't advertise a supposed retail price if you can't get it anywhere else. The only other place I saw this keyboard for sale was on Ducky's facebook page where it was advertised as 'coming soon' in 2015 ! And no price was mentioned.
