Oh man, these look sweet. Sorry for more sizing questions, but it can be tricky! I've been a size 9 most of my life, in standard American sizing. However, in the past year, most or all of the size US9 shoes I've ordered have been too big. I have a few pair of Royales by Greats Brand. They have the Margom sole, and I wear a US8 in them. Do you have any idea how these would compare? Also, is the sole stitched on, or just glued? Thanks for the response.

drankzappaDon't apologize - I answer sizing questions all day long. It's what I do!
I'm not familiar with the Royale personally, but if you take an 8 in those and you're finding your 9's to be too big, then an 8.5 sounds like a safe choice. The German Army Trainer pattern can still work well if its a little big, and that's always preferable to too small.
That said, if you can try on a Jack Purcell close to your home, that's probably going to be the best guide. Most guys wear the same size in those and our trainers. If you feel in between sizes, then go for the smaller one, as our Sport Trainer last is a bit wider than JP's/
The soles are cemented on, there's no stitching. I realize that the word “cemented” invokes all sort of bad connotations, but it’s entirely appropriate for a product like this. Using a stitch would make everything really bulky and move away from the classic design. Trust me, you won’t have any issues with this cemented sole, it’s seriously tough and it’s not going anywhere.
