Will this product improve microphone pickup (sensitivity)? I use the drop sennheiser px37 with Dragon voice recognition software for work, and it’s not picking up all my dictation. Thx!

This device will not alter the sensitivity of the microphone. The device, or software once the signal has passed through the device, *could* be used to boost the signal, but if the mic isn't sensitive enough, this device can't fix that. With the headset you are using (assuming it is in good working order), the mic sensitivity shouldn't really be a problem as long as it is positioned appropriately. This headset does claim that the mic pattern is noise canceling, so it is possible that if you aren't speaking right into the intended mic, then you are picked up as background and canceled out. I don't have that specific set, but typically a noise canceling mic is really just two mics with inverted polarity, so if you are equally loud to both mics (as most of the background noise would be) then the two signals will cancel to no waveform. If, however, the problem you have is caused by EM noise within your case or the like (rare-ish-er than it used to be...) then you might possibly resolve some issues with how you "sound" to the software by converting the signal away from and outside the computer case. For *that* issue, any external dac will resolve the problem as long as there isn't also interference between the mic and the dac. You should be able to check the signal of the device within your OS to see if it is getting a consistent signal. I would check there. It is also possible that your signal is being processed by any manner of software or drivers in some way that adversely affects how Dragon is receiving your audio. I can't be sure, but my gut says that this device is unlikely to resolve the specific issue you asked about.

Will this work with PlayStation 5?

I can't say for sure but it should work, I do have the 1200 Pro and once I used it with a samsung S10 and worked. The device requires no drivers so as long as you give him an audio input and out it should be fine. But again, I'm not sure about the PS5, logic says that it should be fine, but better be sure before buying...

MastroiTekI wish I knew for sure but do not. I'm assuming that it would NOT work based purely on the setup you have to do in windows to make it work there. You must configure it as multiple devices in order for the features to function correctly. I can't find anything official saying it isn't compatible, but all the documentation I can find for it suggests it is only for PCs. It may work as a dac/amp, but I wouldn't expect the features like chat volume and simulated 7.1 to function as intended. Please someone correct this if I'm wrong, i don't have a PS5 handy to test with.

PurpleTurpleto be honest, I used the 1200 pro on 4-5 different computers and none of them required a setup, was pure plug and play (and yes, all the features work just fine). But I also know that other users had to go thorough a setup. You could try contacting sennheiser, they should be able to tell you more

PurpleTurpleI recently got the GSX 1200. I tried it with the PS5 last night and it worked to my surprise. The sound was fantastic too and I was so happy. Then I tried it again today morning and it just didn’t work. It powers up and the console even recognizes it but there is no sound at all. I tried multiple headsets and nothing. I am going to test some more but this is absolutely weird behavior.

JQUB3Hey mate, it doesn't work. I found out that if I plug into the PC and then immediately into the PS5 it works. But If i unplug it from the PS5, or restart the PS5, it stops working. I have tried everything to no avail. I am really disappointed Sony doesn't support this DRIVERLESS dac. :(

I'm a little confused. Does the 7.1 surround and the other features work with any headphone (for example HD 6XX and DT 177X GO) or do the headphones need to also support those features? Thanks

Any headphone will work that is not higher than 150 ohms for this device. As far as I know, headphones themselves are not 7.1 ever. If something says it is 7.1, it is referring to the included software. Basically, all 7.1 surround sound technology for headphones is software oriented. Hope this helps

How does the surround sound work? I imagine I'm supposed to connect this to my PC and it would present itself as a 7.1 audio sink, and then it will perform surround sound processing on that before feeding it to my headphones?

It is a dac/amp. You choose 7.1 on the device and also set it in Windows.

mic will NOT work plugged into amp but it WILL work plugged either into back of pc or front port as well. its the drop mic, similar to modmic. so control panel>Sound>recording. I can hear myself in headset and the activity is shown in the bars in that window. I then try to "setup" the mic where it wants you to read the link jack and dictation or some crap and it is NOT being picked up. my mobo audio driver is latest. baffled, this thing may be getting returned unless I can get this sorted. it just makes zero sense to me how can the the sound>recording bar graph show activity of speaking and the setup test does not, nor does discord. and all will work with mic plugged to pc . please advise , not a happy camper right now.

I have sorted the issue after much head scratching. this is it. Device manager > universal serial bus controllers> usb composite device. you are looking for VID_1395. u get there by right clicking on each composite device listed> properties>details tab> use drop down to the second choice down which is HARDWARE IDS to find the correct one with the VID_1395. simply click on DRIVERS tab , use UNINSTALL and restart pc. boom, fixed it. hope this helps someone else with mic not working or being recognized. and remember for 7.1 to be supported you MUST drop down to 16 bit, sadly. laterz
