Hi there!
At long last, ErgoDox kits are shipping out. The first batch has already gone out the door and we'll be able to send along the rest of the kits soon. For the partial and full assembly ErgoDoxs, a little more time and patience will be required. The partially/fully assembled ErgoDoxs are in production now and they should be ready soon.
Keeping that in mind, we have an important piece of information for all those due to receive their kits soon. Every time we run the ErgoDox we see a lot of suggestions and requests regarding case design. For this round, we filtered and implemented the top three most requested case alterations.
First, we altered layer three of the case so there's no difference between the right and the left hand. We got a lot of complaints from people saying they got halfway through soldering switches only to realize they were soldering with the wrong case piece. This change will make soldering and assembly very simple.
Second, we contracted a new case manufacturer with higher engineering tolerances to make the cases more precise. With these higher tolerances, the costar stabilizer slots are now functional.
Third, layer one and layer 5 are now half as thick as previous iterations. This results in a more slimmed down appearance and higher usability by bringing the ErgoDox closer to desk height.
Ultimately, we're working to make the ErgoDox as good as possible based on community feedback. Let us know how you want to improve the ErgoDox and we'll do our best to make it happen : )

WillJust curious about this statement: "Second, we contracted a new case manufacturer with higher engineering tolerances to make the cases more precise. With these higher tolerances, the costar stabilizer slots are now functional."
As far as I can tell, the main reason why the costar stabs aren't working is due to the thickness of the ergodox plate layer being 4.5mm while the normal specification for keyboards is a 1.5mm plate (too thin to be made with acrylic), which is why the costar stabs doesn't catch on. I'm wonder how the new case is being altered to get past this? Doesn't look fixable with simply higher tolerances.

Would it work if I bought these 2x1 stabilizer springs, inserts, and clips from WASD keyboards?
