You are a major fool if you buy this. It has no US warranty, and there is a special going on now that will save you $230 if you get the grip with the X-T2 from the big, well-known shops. Just ... don't...
pantagMany companies sell grey market equipment and just because it does not have a US warranty it does not make it a bad purchase. You just have to send it to Japan for service. I own many grey market cameras and lenses. Now the free grip and cheaper price do make sense.
cfullwoodI agree with you. However, the price needs to make sense. And in this case, it does not! A grey market product should be around 30% cheaper to justify purchase.
pantagObviously that deal is likely over by now but I am wondering if you could please share where you saw that and/or what type of "big, well-known shops" you'd suggest I check out to find a good price? Thanks. I'm trying to grab the x-t2 pretty soon
LefibonacciHello. It was a special promo that was running in Jan-Feb 2017 that inlcuded the battery grip for a discounted price. This is over now. However, I would check with Adorama or B&H. Create a chat session with them or call them and speak to a sales agent. Ask for a discount. Most likely you will get $100 off the X-T2. By the way...amazing camera and lenses!
pantagWell, even though he pretty clearly stated that he doesn't know of anything, I still think that he is implying they may be due for a sale soon!
Just thought I would let you know, in case you or anybody else was in the market for one as well:
LefibonacciListen. Go to https://www.greentoe.com/. Sign up. Search for the X-T2 and submit your offer at $1,500. It will be accepted within the day and the vendor will be Adorama. It is legit. That's how I got mine.
