Much cooler than you would expect at this price point
In a world of artisans that cost $50+, I can't believe what you get for this price. I mean, who really NEEDS these, I know. But if you admire tiny craftsmanship details, you will love it. There is some shine-through in some of the translucent interior components. The flip top is smooth and has a tiny magnet to keep it in place. When I was first checking it out I thought I broke the "wire" off the side, but come to find out those are held in place with tiny magnets as well. The same goes for the "guts." You can take some tweezers and remove the inner section or rotate it if you want to orient it to north or south facing LED's, and then a magnet holds it back in place.
The tiny components of the keycap make it a very neat addition to any keyboard. The magnetic removable parts and liftable lid are nice touches to an already great design.
This key has a lot of details. I was worried the lid would be flimsy since it opens and closes. It’s solid with almost no play. It also is held closed with a magnet. When I first got it the decorative wire along the outside came loose BUT there is a magnet holding it in place. I started nudging it back in place and it snapped right back where it’s supposed to be. Awesome. No issues here. Considering getting a second one.
The quality of the key cap is good, but the key isn’t stable when you hit it. It’s my escape key, so I’m not hitting it from full top and center, especially if I’m gaming, so I am tempted to switch back to my original escape key. May be good/cool to display, but not for every day or even intermittent use.
