Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. I originally set my genelecs up on my desk like in the first photo and enjoyed the sound some what, but moving them onto some books to elevate them with my ears improved the quality of the high range frequencies. I was really impressed when paired with a subwoofer how full the sound was.
... So I bought 8050s with the money from a mountain of audio equipment I've piled up over the past five years. To me, accurate sound is my goal. I'm trying to get some speaker stands to elevate the speakers to get the best sound of the 8050s.
edit: images are being odd for me, imgur it is!
tl;dr these speakers carry the same quality high frequencies as other genelec speakers. the 'imaging' will only be as good as your speaker placement. and the subfrequencies will not impress you, but that can be fixed with a cleverly hidden away subwoofer.
